FYI, I just bought the game like 4 weeks ago, and I don't have the map packs or any such fuckery. So hopefully you guys don't like playing Storm or Carnival or whatever other goodness you people with expendable incomes have. I used to play TDM exclusively, but I've taken a liking to Ground War these last few days after a YouTube commentator (yeah I watch those, they're pretty entertaining and/or informative) pointed out that the maps are larger than they were in COD4. Because who actually enjoys playing 6v6 on Derail? Fuck that noise.

The M14/M21 is my absolute favorite weapon in the game. Combined with Stopping Power, Scav, and Sitrep it makes up my most used class. The balance of power, recoil, magazine size is ideal for my play style.
Jesus Christ I suck at this game. In one month, I haven't made nearly as much progress as I'd like, especially considering I used to own face on COD4. My K/D lingers around .86, but I was at like .97 and steadily climbing when I switched to MW2 so I figured I'd sort of hit the ground running. Nein. Tonight on TDM I was in the ballpark of 5-12 or 6-10 every fucking match. Then I played S&D for the first time (first time for MW2, that is) and defused two bombs in a single match en route to a 4-1 victory on Estate, then played a round of FFA on Highrise and came two kills away from 1st place...while drunk. This game confuses the shit out of me sometimes. Positive note: towards the end when I was drinking and about to play FFA, I lowered my sensitivity from 7 to 5. Sensitivity seems to be a sorely underrated facet of the game, based on a post someone wrote several pages back. It worked wonders for my quickscoping endeavors. I'm hoping I can get this shit down, because the quick-draw, one-shot-one-kill business makes me feel more warm and fuzzy than a "regular" kill typically does. One of these days, gentlemen, we need to coordinate our nonexistent social calendars and spend an evening raping and pillaging the rest of the COD community. Seems like a lot of you guys who actively get together on here play on PS3...so you can just just suck my cock or whatever.

Well, I didn't give it my all, but I tried. That was horrible. Honestly Rob, I've never played a game with such lame players before. Too much tubing and camping. Fuck that. Next time though, when the children are asleep maybe we won't have to play "who can tube point B the fastest." We could all use a MW2 360 day. Even when I played a few games with konatown on the PC awhile back we didn't have any hackers or tubing children.
Just gonna throw this out there. If you hate when people just tube at objectives and what not, why not play games where they dont exist. If there is a focal point on the map where people gather, why not spam tubes for easy kills? Until they ban launchers from the game its going to continue to happen.
This is a fair question, and I've gone back and forth on the issue, especially after today's game (the flag in question was the B-flag in Quarry, for anyone who cares). Tubing an objective such as a flag shouldn't be about "easy kills," even though it's definitely a byproduct of doing so. Although that may be what the guy in our particular game was doing. If I remember correctly, his grenade launcher/One Man Army Pro was how they were able to take the flag in the first place, using it to take out anyone on our team coming to protect the flag while his teammates would go inside to take it. That part, to me, was bullshit. He wouldn't even fire bullets when providing cover fire, which I felt was cheap. At any rate, he was doing his job, which was protecting the flag. To that, I salute him. Even though I am strictly opposed to camping and launchers-only play, I 100% advocate them and whatever other tactics are necessary in Domination. I mean, if you want to keep the enemy from taking the flag, why not sit there and take them out? They can counter that by watching the killcam and coming after you from anther direction, or firing noob tubes themselves. Same thing applies to another guy on that team who'd toss in a C4 pack whenever one of us went after the flag. I used to do that very thing on COD4, albeit I'd leave the C4 and denote it remotely, but you get the point. Flags are typically easier to defend than they are to take, so it's a matter of who gets there first. This is more true on some maps than others. For example, let the other team take the B flag on Sub Base and try to take it from them. Have fun dying every time in the process. It's just the nature of the game. As for playing non-objective games such as TDM, that shit exists just as much as it does in Dom, if not more so. You can't win with those fuckers. I don't think they should ban launchers altogether, but they need to tone down their blast radius and scrap any derivative of Danger Close to discourage all those guys who use them as a primary means of killing enemies. I can handle getting beat by someone who shoots with talent. Any idiot can point and shoot a launcher into a general direction.
What I would like to see is them just limit the number. Have the lowest level people pick their weapons first and only allow 2-3 grenade launchers per team. I don't know if this could be done, but it seems like the best solution to me. It allows for the weapon to exist in a way that is beneficial, but not downright fun killing. I just played for the first time in a couple weeks and I quit after two Ground War games, because I was tired of just getting blasted by tubes in my spawn. I could kill three-four guys before I got wasted, but no one could make it out. I was getting care packages, but there was no way in hell I could ever make it outside to actually pick them up.
If it makes you feel any better (black ops spoiler I got to play already) Spoiler The tubes in BO are weak sauce compared to MW2 and from what I saw there is no equivalent to danger close. EDIT: I don't care who you are, spamming a tube across the map and seeing that +100 is pretty fucking funny.
There are few things better than chucking a semtex in the general direction of a bunch of people and getting a kill or two. I got a quad-kill on yesterday Afghan by throwing one up on the ledge by the C flag right after they took it from us. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Speaking of noob tubes and Predator missiles and Scrapyard, I was playing Domination the other day and we spawned by the C flag (the one next to the blown-up tanker truck). Some dude got at least a quad-kill with a tube like 5 seconds into the game. I say "at least," of course, because only 4 kills at a time show up in the kill feed. Guy gets a Predator, and again takes down at least 4 guys. Then he called in his Pave Low. I can has rage quit plz? You bet your fucking ass.
Shooting down a Pave Low awards you with 400 points. That's 8 kills in domination. Just shoot the fucker down and keep going, ragequitting is the worst.
One of the only parts I liked about Wasteland was throwing grenades over the hedges to kill the people camping outside of the exits on the other side. Nothing like getting a kill or two when there is a stalemate going on that map.
