Random groups not only suck balls, but how about people that don't speak the same fucking language. I was just in a room with a guy without a mic, a guy that spoke Spanish, and a guy that spoke a different language I didn't even recognize. Yeah, we made it to about level six. Real helpful.

That's not as bad as the asshat I played with yesterday, I can forgive a language barrier. The three people who weren't fuckwits got the three downstairs windows while Mr. Dipshit Fuckstick takes the upstairs window. So far so good right? Well I guess this shitbird was unhappy about the lack of zombies attacking the upstairs in round 3 so what does he do? He moseys on down the staircase and starts trying to pick off zombies at my window over my shoulder. Anyone care to guess how the zombies overran us on round 3? His goddamn window.

I had a pretty bad group on Zombies the other day. We were playing the White House map, and all three of them failed to recognize the importance of opening up new doors/areas. We had gotten to Round 5 or 6, and I was the only one to have paid for new areas (got downstairs with the elevator), but of course that meant that I only had a shitty handgun. I was by myself downstairs and got killed, and the other 3 idiots only made it one extra round anyway because the guns they purchased were pretty weak by then. Totally fucking stupid

My KD isnt very good because of my generous lending of the game to my friends. doesnt matter. My setup:

    Galil
    Crossbow
    Semtex
    Flash
    Motion Sensor

    Hardline Pro
    Hardened Pro
    Hacker Pro

I fucking LOVE the crossbow. Unlike the semtex, it doesnt make a noise, so firing into a known sniper nest or camping posting is gold. The rrange on it is awesome as well.

Good games tonight guys. We won a large majority of the TDM games when we had a full 6 TiB members running together, although for some reason all of your voice audio dropped in the last game and things went downhill a bit on Jungle (even though I think we still won).

I should hit level 50 by tomorrow or Wed night. Is it worth it to prestige in this game or is it still pretty much for bragging rights? The extra classes would be nice, but still...

So I popped in MW2 again for the second time this week. Yep, still feels better. I'm debating returning or exchanging BO but my friend keeps crying that I shouldn't. I guess I should start the campaign and see how I feel.

So I finally got Hardline Pro and it turns out that you can not only reroll care packages, but SAM turrets and sentry guns as well. So right now my kill streak set up is SAM>Care Package>Sentry Gun, so I basically get three care packages in a row at kills 3>4>5.

I don't always get lucky, it sucks when I turn that sentry gun into an ammo box, but that doesn't really happen that often. It was pretty great the other day when I got a Hind and Rolling Thunder in the same match.

I played a match on Grid the other day and a teammate called in a care package right in the middle of that back area next to those cars where the bunker type buildings are, which turned out to be an ammo box. The box was being covered by someone from the other team out of a window, and people from both teams were rushing into that area to try to get it. I ran up and rerolled it to a chopper gunner but was shot down before I could cap it. Luckily someone else from my team got it, pretty intense though.

The only downside to that kill streak setup is that if you really go on a roll, you're not guaranteed to get a CG or dogs or something, but I don't mind because it seems that I get the high level rewards out of packages more often than I ever got streaks that good.

Girl Talk's mix of Ludacris's Move Bitch and Black Sabbath's War Pigs is perfect for COD playing.

Unfortunately, it only lasts the first two minutes.

I've finally decided to admit that everything in MW2 is far too overpowered to put up with anymore, and am seriously considering trading it in for Black Ops. Might as well get with the times. As much as I love the game (because it really is only a few tweaks away from being awesome), I've lost my patience with the killstreak rewards, the non-recoiling assault rifles, the death streaks, the heartbeat sensors, and Commando. Sweet dear fucking Jesus, fuck Commando. Worst. Perk. Ever. Not that this is news, but it bears repeating. It truly is a game-breaker. The past week or so, I've taken to quitting immediately the second someone kills me with some knife lunge that defies human physiology. I could play Barebones Pro to get away from the killstreak bullshit, but not the rest of it.

All that being said...is it really worth it? It sounds like Black Ops is a good game after all (not the sucking failure I expected Treyarch to ejaculate), judging from everything I've read on this thread and elsewhere. I'm not asking you guys to make my decision for me; I just want some confirmation before I go through with it. After the trade-in of MW2, I'm looking at about $50. If that's what it takes to enjoy Call of Duty like I used to, then I'm all for it.

After having played the two side-by-side and ridding myself of nostalgia for MW2, I think it's a matter of what kind of bullshit you're willing to put up with.

With MW2, here are my pros and cons:
+ The hit detection is great. If I fuck up, it's because I can't sight worth a damn and not a fault of the game.
+ The perk system works better because it doesn't force one to enter game modes one may not necessarily enjoy.
+ Most weapons can be used at nearly any range, depending on your level of skill thanks to damage drop off.
+ Personal preference, but the sound and visuals make the game a more visceral experience. I love blasting people with the TAR, for instance, because it sounds like I'm killing them with a jet engine.
+ You can actually here footsteps that aren't yours.
+ The levels are multi-tiered, while making them harder to learn, allows for many more avenues.
    - Grenade launcher/OMA/Danger Close
    - Commando does have an absurd range, but it's manageable with the shotguns.
    - The lack of party support compared to Black Ops is inexcusable.
+/-: Quick scoping. Personal preference is that I don't care.

    Black Ops pros and cons:
+ The levels are easy to commit to memory so you don't feel like an asshole dying all of the time.
+ More people are playing it.
+ Kill streaks don't stack so people don't rely on them to build up the killstreaks.
+ Money system is nice. Although you still have to rank up to open up the weapons, you can buy the attachments as you see fit.
+/- Quick scoping and sniping in general is significantly more difficult w/o stopping power and the poorer hit detection.
+/- The game is slower than MW2, allowing you to react to people shooting at you.
    - Because the hit detection sucks.
    - The knifing is infuriating because of the lack of lunge compared to previous installments. Without some level of lunge, it's hard to gauge if the knife will actually kill someone. I've sliced someone is the back only for him to turn around and then shoot me dead or knife me. I've also knifed someone when we run into each other only for my knife to whiff and for his to gut me. I'm sure many of the times I've wondered, "Why didn't that fucker try to knife me?" is a result of me winning the coin flip.
    - The secondary weapons blow. I've taken to using only AA for all of my classes.
    - The sound feels like I put a concrete door between the speakers and myself, which kind of kills the experience for me.

In both games, people will learn the camping spots and hide. There's no changing that, no matter the level design.

Basically, I feel MW2 is more of a visceral experience. If it weren't for the noob-tubing assholes that worm their way into about half of the games, I'd be more game to play it. If you were any good at MW2, you will be a rock star in Black Ops based on your twitch. Those skills don't transfer as easily the other way, I found out.

Rob you're on xbox right? I can only speak for PS3 but there has been a SERIOUS reduction of OMA/DC and tac-knifers. I love it. I saw my first booster in ages and had fun fucking with him because I knew the chances of bumping into another one any time soon are slim. What's even better is going to be all the little boys and girls leaving me the hell alone come christmas when they finally get Black Ops. The one thing I'm missing? Having group matches, rampaging is not the same when you have no one competent to back you up.

Yeah, there was a huge drop-off in OMA/DC on Xbox as well. Like, the day Black Ops came out, I noticed an immediate improvement. I certainly didn't complain about that. As far as the tac-knife goes, I'm guilty of using it whenever I use my knife-only class, so I'd be a hypocrite to get mad at others for using it. It's not nearly the headache that Commando is. A quick side note about the tac knife: I recently heard (though I never actually tried it myself out of lack of caring) that knifing with akimbo USPs is actually faster than the tac-knife, and you don't lose range like you do when using the tactical knife vs. the regular one. Just some food for thought, even though it probably doesn't matter any more.

On one hand, I'm glad that each new game rids its predecessor of all the assholes. That was my experience when I first started playing COD4 exactly one year ago. It makes the gameplay more enjoyable, as it should be. On the other hand, like you mentioned, it's harder to play with friends because most of them have moved on to the newer, shinier thing. I remember being on the outside looking in when everyone on here would organize weekend matches while I was the 'tard playing by myself on COD4. It's a double-edged sword.

Big thanks to PS for that list of pros and cons. Everything you listed about MW2 is in line with what I was thinking, so we're on the same page there. The only thing that really upsets me about Black Ops is the poor sound quality, which I've heard many, many complaints about. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give my soundwhoring tendencies about a 12. The main reason I've become as good as I have in the last couple weeks is my Turtle Beach. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't enjoy the game, but I'm really gonna miss dropping prone in the bushes and getting guys from behind after they run past me. Hopefully they'll patch that stuff.

The fact that the killstreaks don't stack is HUGE, though. And I've been salivating over the CP system since I first heard about it. Taking the good aspects with the bad (not to mention more people are playing Black Ops, as it was pointed out), I'm gonna make the leap. Catch me on XBL as AMAZINGOSAURUS. I work in the dead of night these days and go to sleep around 7 EST, so I'll be easiest to find in the early afternoons, if any of you suckbags want to band together and wail on angry prepubescents.

    Adieu, MW2.

So I finally broke down and got Black Ops, mainly because I need something to keep my mind off stupid Thanksgiving shit this weekend.

I let the gold subscription on my old account expire, but I got a free month trial for a different profile, so I should be on pretty often for at least the next couple weeks.

    New Live gamertag is NipSlipChip.

I'm digging Black Ops so far. What little I've seen of it, that is. I finished the campaign this morning, fucked with zombies for an hour, then played around with the combat training. I like to know the maps before I jump right into multiplayer, and this is even better because I can play against the A.I. and get a feel for different routes and hot spots. I'll probably be online this evening for the real thing, if anyone wants to join me.

It could just be me, but I like how the guns in this game handle much more than the ones in MW2. Maybe it's the animation or the way they sound.

Well my TV went to shit. I knew there was something wrong when the screen got squeezed (?) vertically like in that episode of Futurama with the universe box. Don't know how to describe it any better. Anyway, I'm fucked.

Now it won't even start. I press the 'On' button and it makes the click-and-static noise any normal TV makes, then it just shuts off. I used to let it cool down for a couple of hourse and the problem would usually go away. Not this time, the SOB definitely died on me this time.

I've tried plugging the PS3 to my HD-TV but no luck there either. There seems to be an audio-visual delay of half a second. Tried to Google a solution and apparently it's a common problem and it can't be fixed unless you buy certain hardware.

    Fuck.

Slow down there Pato. What brand TV do you have? Also, all you should need is an HDMI cord for the best fit with your HDTV.

Yeah, I've decided I'm only going to play Black Ops online when the whole TiB Crew is on, if no one else is on, and Maltob is on, I'm playing MW2. Everything PSoup said is correct. The most frustrating thing about Black Ops I discovered earlier today is that if a player is lagging it benefits him because he's doing the whole teleport run, in MW2 it was opposite. In Black Ops where it takes half a clip to take someone out, it is a fucking killer since there is zero tracking on the knife. I also wonder why the fuck it sounds like I kneecapped someone with a baseball bat when I knife them. Fuck Treyarch.
