I tried this out to see if it worked for me, and wow. It does challenge my not-quite-dependence on Hardline, but that's not really a bad thing. I'm surprised by how easy it is to take down snipers with the iron sights...not a breeze, but the firepower lets you get away with it. I think anything that's too close to the AUG is perfect prey for a foregrip SPAS...tons of fun overall.
So this is interesting. Apparently, a handful of the more well-known YouTube commentators are doing a FFA throwdown in Black Ops in the near future. And guess who just came out of quasi-retirement and signed up? That's right. Sandy Fucking Ravage. He's been in school getting his Masters and hasn't played COD since March or April, and the few games he did play before that were all MW2 since Sandy hates BO so much. But, he said, "Fuck it", dusted off his XBox, and posted up his first (albeit rusty) FFA game... Granted it's against a bunch of scrubs, but still. Going 30-10 on the first game in months is pretty cool. I am extremely pumped for this tournament and will post up more vids when Sandy uploads them.
Is anyone still playing MW2 on playstation? I've given up on Crysis multiplayer and come back to CoD.

In other news, I had the best sniper game of search and destroy ever yesterday, in Karachi of all places. Went 15-2 against a bunch of guys using assault rifles and SMGs. It was like nothing could go wrong. At one point I was running past the chickens next to the high roof when all of a sudden a guy decides he wants to come out of hiding and get an easy quickscope on me. Nope. I use the map to determine where he is, jump, do a 180° and manage to get the quickscope headshot. The guy even sent me hatemail afterwards. Then another round it was me vs 5 guys. I manage to knife one on top of the roof and I hear them coming on that little staircase. Chuck a stun and hear a sweet ass loud hit marker. Pulled out the Rafficas and got a triple spray. In Search. After a little cat & mouse I manage to kill the last guy too. The lows in this game are abysmal. But the highs.. They make you forget the PS3 comes with other games.
I've been playing Ground War since it seems like all the newbs who just want a quick game play it. I've had some serious sniper duels and they've been fun. The Barrett rocks my world. I <3 that gun. Especially on Overgrown where I basically raped 9 guys because it took about 20 kills for them to think "Hey, maybe we SHOULDN'T run across the bridge where he has a clear shot at us!" God bless their hearts.
I have returned to MW2 also, fuck Black Ops, that game is shit. I am a little disappointed that there are so few players on PS3 though, usually around 4K on Ground War, which makes for constant host-search failures. Got through my final exam on Friday and am now two semesters away from becoming a doctor, motherfuckers. MW2 made for some excellent study breaks, even went 86 - 16 on Scrapyard and got my first nuke on Crash. But fuck those One Man Army/Noob Tube assholes. If anybody wants to play my PSN ID is nogro, so hit me up. I`ll probably be 6 time-zones off, but whatever.
Holy shit. Just went 28-5 on Rundown TDM. M16 Holographic + SPAS ->Predator Double kill -> Harriers -> Chopper Gunner. Probably won't ever do that again, but damn was it fun.
One of my friends at Best Buy told me people are still buying Modern Warfare 2. I jump into games and 1 out of every 3 games is pure tubing but sniping gets around that real easy. Also, not bragging, but I'm going on a date with a Russian chick who looks like a cute version of the Russian chick from that recent abortion of an Indiana Jones movie. Due to my American media culture, I feel like I'm betraying James Bond, Rocky, and Captain Price all in one go. I'm going to invite her over and have her play "No Russian" and see if I can still get laid after that. Bets? Bets?
Apparently Treyarch released the new map pack for Black Ops today for the Xbox360. I watched ElPresador's video on Hazard and besides the rampant camping going on, the map itself looked to be a visible improvement over the last map pack that came out, which in turn was an improvement over the horrific First Strike pack that I inevitably bought like a dumbass. That being said, I am on the fence about dropping $15 on the four new maps (plus one zombie map, which I don't give a shit about). If you bought all three maps, that's over $100 combined with the original game purchase donated to Treyarch and Activision for a pretty crappy game. Has anyone splurged on Annihilation yet? If you spend more than 3 dollars on that, you're not going about it the right way. Apparently when you buy a map pack, you get 5 downloads of it. Which means if you pass your account name and password around, 4 more people can download it. That's how I got First Strike for free. Get 4 more trustworthy people together, make a fake account, put the money in the PSN store, download it, pass it around and have them pay you in real life or something. That's what I'd do. Except I'm not handing a single dime more over to Treyarch. They should be fucking shot for making such a piece of shit game. /rant
That's actually the route I've gone in the past, but just with one other person. I have already logged on to two of his machines and one of mine, so I figure splitting the cost 50/50 was worth it in the past. I was wrong. First Strike was horrible, to the point where that same friend won't re-download the map pack on his new machine (old one YROD'd on him). And I feel the same way as you, Plato, I would prefer not to give those fucks another dime of my money. So I guess that kind of settles it. Save a few bucks and wait for MW3 in the fall.
Not sure if I bitched in here or the other gaming thread, but I have a friend who whores KZ3. I love the game, completely different than COD (obv). My friend hit me up: "Come on man, get the new map packs! Let's play, they're cheap. There are two packs of 2 and another of 4." Cheap? What the fuck, I'm not dropping 30-45 dollars on maps. Oh wait. They were bundled for 9.99. Eight goddamn maps, for multiple game types for 9.99. Fuck fuck fuck that 14.99 noise. The maps are equal to or bigger than COD maps AND have better graphics. That shit is not production costs.
Some very interesting stuff in here. It's kind of nice to hear a face-to-face interview with an Activision rep to clarify all of the things surrounding COD, including Elite and this new event they're kicking off. Even if you hate Activision's business practices - I'll be the first in line - this is pretty awesome.
The best part will be watching people try to use the same tactics in real life as they do in the game. Imagine the hilarity of guys literally cowering in corners shooting anyone who runs by, while in the next building his buddy tries to "soundwhore" to call in that Pred missile.
