Yep I've been playing a lot of MW2 recently and the difference between the 2 games is striking. MW2 is visually far superior and the game seems much faster paced, which I like. I was playing a ground war but noob tubes have made it impossible. If they don't cut back on this for MW3 I'm going to be seriously disappointed. TDM and Free for All are relatively noob tube free so I've been sticking to that now.
I was able to reacquire a copy of Black Ops for cheap, from a friend. Second day of owning it, I had my first 1 v. 5 clutch in Search & Destroy. After the match, their 6th guy (who died very early in the round) said, "Guys...what just happened?" For all the things I dislike about Black Ops, Search & Destroy is not one of them. In fact, I'd say it's better than in MW2 because of the absence of spawn-tubing that's rampant in the latter. Since it's a slow game type, it suits the overall slower nature of Black Ops very well.
Take note of the last clip. It appears to be out of multiplayer. "Point streak" instead of "kill streak" is what I like to hear. Hopefully this will mean that K/D won't be very meaningful, which is how it should be.
I imagine that would be part of the revamped kill streak rewards system IW discussed earlier. If so, then I like it. Getting assists before just felt like such a letdown. I wonder what the dogs with explosives tied around them will be like. Frankly I'd rather have the dogs that shoot bees out of their mouths. ============= I played the Black Ops campaign last night since my internet was down. God I hated it. The pacing was terrible with so many cut scenes I couldn't skip for a plot I didn't care about. I also predicted the plot's twist about 1/3 into the game too.
Heh, yeah that one was too easy to see coming. I figured it out somewhere around the time your character first sits down to meet with the President. Still, I thought the campaign was the best in the COD series. The prison break scene was nuts; tell me that you at least enjoyed that part?
That would be amazing. Nothing would infuriate me more than being a kill away from an AC-130 or CG, shooting at a guy, getting an assist, and then immediately dying. Though if they do this I think they should cut back on the amount of points you should get for the non kill/assist stuff like payback and comeback.
Except that the clip seems to be for a gametype called "Survival." From MW3's wikipedia page: It sounds a lot like Firefight on Halo:Reach. Should be a lot of fun, if IW sets it up well, and should add lots of replay to the game if competitive online multiplayer isn't your thing.
The entire video is for Survival Mode. I'm referring to the clip at the end, after the "MW3" title shot. It shows the player earning a "14-point streak" for a Juggernaut. The HUD (particularly in the bottom-left) is totally different from the rest of the clips in the video, and appears to be in a Free-For-All game. I could be wrong, but that's what I gathered. I interpreted the end of the video as some sort of MP teaser. It even says "You killed FOURZEROTWO."
The alleged perk system for MW3. Not sure how credible it is, but WGT is usually well-informed. Have at it: My thoughts: - No unlimited sprinting ability. Thank the fuck Christ. - Lightweight is noticeably absent. Kind of good, but kind of disappointing. It'd have been nice if it was incorporated somehow. - I'm glad that they separated the ability to be undetected by UAVs, and the ability to be undetected by everything else. With the absence of Stopping Power, that's certainly what made Ghost Pro so popular in Black Ops. Since SP won't be in MW3 as well, it's good to see countermeasures taken. - Likewise, I expect that making the faster ADS ability separate from Sleight of Hand could balance very well. SOH Pro seemed to be the de facto Tier 1 perk in MW2. On the other hand, I'm interested that the faster weapon swap will be part of SOH, since I use Scout Pro a lot in Black Ops (this is just a personal preference, based on my play style). - Painting targets in a COD game, Battlefield style? Sound cool in theory, but in a fast-paced game like COD, I wonder if that could get extremely out of hand, particularly if you have a party of 6 all using the Recon perk. It could potentially become an unlimited UAV. - Perk balance, as a whole, is very well done. Speculation 3 months before the game's release means only so much, but I can already see so many different fun and interesting combinations to use. It'd go a long way towards the game's longevity.
I'm a little disappointed they could be getting rid of Lightweight. I find I get bored or impatient running around the map without it. I generally play pretty aggressive, and try to come up from behind groups of the enemy team. Always with a shotgun though, fuck that knifing shit (which I suppose is the main reason they are getting rid of it).
I've also recently switched back to MW2, and the gameplay is much more to my liking than B.O. I'll be playing this for a while, but I'm sure I'll eventually end up switching back and forth
This was my very first thought, as well. The guys who like to run around stabbing enemies can get pretty annoying, but it still takes considerable skill to do it effectively, game after game. I'm wondering if, rather than as a perk, that they'll possibly implement some sort of class system (similar to Battlefield), so that if you want to be a rusher, you can use the equivalent of Lightweight in that regard. Team Fortress 2 has that sort of setup, so that only certain characters can move fast, while others aren't very mobile. That'd be a major revolution to the COD series, and I'm not expecting it to happen, but it'd be awesome if/when they did. I recently got Black Ops again a couple weeks ago, and I must say, it's not as easy of a call as it used to be for me. I'm not sure if it's because I only play Search (and the occasional Domination), but I've found that I can adapt nicely to the slow pace of Black Ops. Put me in the tiny minority of people who will continue to play this game after MW3 releases. This week's highlights: got my first clean quad feed in any COD game (triple frag immediately followed by a Stakeout defend at the B flag on Launch), 15 captures in Domination on Crisis against a shitty team of 5 kids (while going 26-21 with a Stakeout in the process), and 9-2 in S&D on Nuketown. The funny part about that last one was that I had 4 kills with C4 (including one double that was *almost* a triple), 3 with frags, and 2 with someone else's gun. Oh, and one of my deaths was from my own care package. Herp-da-derp. I still hate the colors and the sounds with the power of one thousand suns, but the matchmaking and hit detection is at least noticeably improved from a few months ago. Still not as good as MW2, but Black Ops certainly has its moments.
We have recently acquired Black Ops (WaW is the only other one we have, mainly for the nazi zombies) and my 12 year old and I started up a split-screen round of "Five" and he got Castro. After playing for a few minutes, he goes "Who am I? A janitor?!" *facepalm* This was after successfully identifying JFK and Richard Nixon (though he didn't get the Tricky Dick reference even after learning about Watergate this past school year). We thought the 4th guy was Malcolm X. Oops. Speaking of which, is there due to be a zombie mode in MW3? I must say that I find war games to be incredibly boring (B:BC was strangely difficult for me to play) but I might consider picking it up if there are zombies. If anyone wants to play some zombies on the PS3, my PSN is ZombieBabe927. I actually prefer WaW zombies to BO zombies but I'm down for either really. I can play other multiplayer games on WaW but haven't played around enough with Black Ops to put up a fair fight.
No zombies, however MW3 will have its own equivalent in the form of "Survival Mode." The trailer is near the top of this page, and a quick rundown of what it is was pasted a few posts after that. If zombies are what you're after, sorry to say that you'll be disappointed. But if the appeal of zombies for you is the hoard mode game type (similar to Left 4 Dead), then you might be in luck. It looks promising, from that standpoint. I mean come on, dogs with C4? Hell to the yes.
So apparently Black Ops has a ghost/second chance free playlist. I'm assuming it's only on the 360 because I couldn't find it on my ps3. They can add/delete all the perks they want but the lag will always be around.
So, in a move of either supreme stupidity or pure awesomeness, ElPresador challenged Sandy Ravage to a 1-on-1 match, and Savage accepted. Should take place within the next couple of weeks apparently. ElPres talks about it briefly at the end of this video.
Is it just me, or are elpresador's videos physically painful to watch for everyone else? All he does is make tactical errors, shoot poorly, and yell nonsense when he gets killed. His playing in that video was just sad. He starts out like 0-6, manages to get a single killstreak in the whole game, and ends up -2 with basically as many deaths as any two people on the opposite team. Sandy gets multiple nukes while taking shots during the game. Elpresador is going to get assraped.
Oh for sure. That's the beauty of ElPresador. He sucks, and he knows it. The one-on-one is just for fun, and Pres knows he is in for a serious ass kicking. Sandy's AC-130 drinking game videos are always entertaining to watch. I've watched some of the live streams where Sandy has been absolutely hammered and he STILL cleans up on anyone and everyone. The guy is simply amazing.
The new Express playlist is hella fun. ONS1AUGH7 has some tips for doing well in it. I have a bit more fun playing it than most other people might, since I always use Spy-Counter-CP anyway, so it feels more natural for me to use the recon stuff that's now more valuable. Fuck dogs.
Nice. No ghost pro campers! That should definitely liven up the game a bit. Hopefully that playlist makes it to the PS3 soon.
