15 lbs of rice and a bunch of beans should we need them. A dozen cans of tuna. A few cases of gatorade. A few packs of TP. Several cases of that protein drink they sell at costco in large packs. I'm not overly worried about the water supply. I have several pounds of meat in the freezer. A good supply of OTC cold/flu meds. Remington 870 and Glock 19.
If Tom Hanks wasn't in Australia, but in the US, he wouldn't have been able to get tested. I keep seeing these stories about people who are symptomatic and can't get tested because they didn't travel and it makes me fucking furious. But no, the answer is to ban travel between from Europe and not make tests more readily available. A person could be infecting people for up to two weeks before they show symptoms. It shouldn't be lost on anybody that the people who voted these lethally incompetent nincompoops into power are now the largest group at risk to die from this.
That's kinda the fallback plan. Among about a dozen or so other guns, I also have an 870 and a glock 19. I've always stuck to NATO rounds -- with the exception of the .40 cal and .38 special/.37 because police use it -- with the thinking that whatever the military uses, is always going to be in production and available, even if it is expensive when people are panic buying. And because targets don't shoot themselves, I always keep a few hundred rounds each in .22, .38 special, 9 mm, .40 cal, .223/5.56, .308/7.62X51, 12 gauge. So worst case, there's a grocery store in my front yard: it has about 10 points on its antlers and a white tail. Hell if I wanted to fire up the grill, there's flying appetizers that go great stuffed with a jalapeno and wrapped in some bacon.
Crazy has stopped mail delivery. Apparently "Everybody has the virus" and "They're sending it through the mail." I guess that's a sound idea, because just giving the fucking mailbox key to someone else in the house who isn't bat shit insane would make to much sense.
You mean give control of the gate to the weakest point in the defenses? Are you mad? That's how they trojan horse you.
If things are so bad that I have to clarify my own butter with cheese cloth, I’m letting the virus take me.
Perhaps we have this whole thing backwards. Perhaps we should cheer for this virus and just let it do it’s thing....
The dude survived having AIDS, won the medal of honour in Vietnam, made it through being stranded on a desert island, also in outer space, AND co-started in a film with Julia Roberts. You think this shit won’t be anything but a joke to him? It will be interesting to see how many deaths can be linked simply to Trump’s stupid narcissism over this whole thing. He did after all slash the budgets for disease centre control and denied it was even real until hours ago. His reaction to this has been dangerously dumb and insane.
That is not what I read, Crown. The budget called for cuts at the CDC, but in fact CDC funding has been increased by Congress, and signed off on by Trump, yearly. The bad play was eliminating the USAID program PREDICT. That was a bad choice. Edit to add an article that talks of this: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-cut-cdcs-budget-democrats-claim-analysis/story?id=69233170
Obviously you didn’t see the director’s cut. Antonio Banderas allows the virus to be absorbed into him, sort of like in “Cocoon”.
Welp, the crazy has hit Northern California. TP aisle at Target had two 4 packs of off brand dunny rolls left.
I don't think so. But then I think it's a prudent thing to do even in the best of time. The prepared don't panic.
We dropped the ball on testing. Two fold since one, blanket testing is able to identify early cases so patients can self isolate and the curve is turned, two it gives us a much better perspective of how deadly it really is. The latter would squash some of the madness. So much of this doom and gloom is based off of the hospitalization rate being the base number for counting cases and a death rate is always going to be higher if those are the only numbers. You blanket test people with symptoms like South Korea has and the overall picture is really not that grim.
Not that grim for the young. Quite grim for the old. This thing can go through a nursing home faster than tapioca pudding.
With the amount of hand shaking and baby kissing Bernie and Biden are doing, I'm surprised neither of them have caught it yet.
But that goes for any communicable disease. I’m still thinking once the full scale testing it’ll fall inline with the flu numbers wise. Hard to know in the end since it wasn’t started upfront.
