I am still breastfeeding so that helps a bit. You must have gotten your vaccine pretty early, I think I'll need a booster in October. I agree with you about the under reporting of breakthrough cases. The percentages of reported efficacy of vaccines and corresponding transmission has changed just enough for this to swing wildly out of control.... Again. It's mostly hubs going back to mask wearing since I rarely go anywhere. He doesn't have a public facing job and only encounters a few people each day, so being vaccinated he felt comfortable going without. He was mask free less than a month before going back to it. We are also back to not accepting traveling visitors. My brother in law wanted to visit with his new girlfriend to meet the baby and I just don't feel comfortable with that. They are getting vaccinated now but with his hard headed attitude about this virus I do not trust him to exercise a reasonable level of caution while in public. Back to step one, trust no one.
I was so hopeful for safe social interactions for the kiddo because that's really important at this developmental age. It was easier before because we had an infant.
Am I the only one who just now noticed that there’s two that say “Sugma Variant” and “Ligma Variant?” oh, internet…
Well, we just had our first cancellation for the remainder of the year. We had a big show coming up in PA, and they just shut down all indoor live shows until Labor Day. So it begins.
Crossing my fingers that Pfizer will allow a third booster. Give it to me!!! Inject me with your miracle fluids!!
Id take a shot a month if it meant not going through that again…. Wait that’s actually a good question: for those of you who have both had covid and the shot: how frequently would you happily go get a shot in order to not have to experience the covid-sans-lube again?
We're back to masks in public on Friday. It was announced yesterday, with a two day grace period. Today when I was at the store I was the only one wearing a mask. Our positivity rate is back over 14% with over 1K new cases a day. Can't say I'm surprised.
My job is offering free vaccines today, Pfizer and J&J. I've got both doses of the former, I'm curious about getting the latter also. Opinions?
How long ago did you get the Pfizer? Why are you considering a booster? What are your other risk factors? Are you over 65? https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/29/science/covid-vaccine-booster-third-shot.html
If this pans out, it should be a simple process of using the current mass vaccination infrastructure to administer a third dose. https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/28/health/pfizer-third-dose-data-bn/index.html
