1300 new here yesterday. I broke down and got vaccinated today, these numbers are starting to close in on the worst of the pandemic numbers and I don't see them improving any time soon.
See, I don't see that a breaking down, I see that as stepping up. Congrats! I'm sorry you think it's somehow losing or "breaking down". I just don't get where this headspace comes from.
"Broke down" as in I actually left the house to do it. For months I haven't gone anywhere except to the store for a couple minutes every now and then.
Had my two doses of Astra Zeneca, (vaccine of none choice for old farts down under). Looking for something else to die of now. Whilst i'm open to suggestions I am leaning towards dying of old age, maybe in another 20 or 30 years though.
@greybeard My fiance is from Australia and she's in close contact with her family over there and it's starting to sound like what the US went through during the first wave. They were doing so good for most of COVID, very few cases, good contact tracing, and then they had an outbreak and the place went to total shit. Anti-vaxxer marches, government screwing up the vaccine roll out, cases exploding everywhere, full lockdowns, hospitals starting to become overwhelmed. She was supposed to be going back home for the first time in about 6 years and that's all up in the air now. It's crazy how fast it started going down hill.
I'm still here. https://youtube.com/shorts/uiwjAj0zfKQ?feature=share Felt nothing until around 8p yesterday, then some pain at injection sight. Today it's body aches all over, minor headache. Constant urination, on the hour every hour, I hardly slept. Breathing is normal, almost seems deeper. I'm thinking this is how a vaccination should feel. Good thing we had no plans this weekend.
It's the ongoing 'own goals' by our federal government and media that's most disappointing. Our government has continually talked up/down vaccination to the extent that we have a huge backlash to AZ and people are hanging out for pfizer, except we have bugger all pfizer because we didn't order any. People told to book a vaccination appointment then failing to have enough available. Then we have a media hell bent on reporting how hard done by people are if they get caught breaking lockdown rules or how they are being victimised by any restriction. And to top it of we seem to making the same mistakes over and over. Quarantine breaches, importing infections and people trying to find loop holes in any isolation rules. I'm on the west coast and things have been pretty good here (so far), the eastern states seem to be just going from one train wreck to the next.
I love The Beaverton... https://thebeaverton.com/2021/07/meet-the-unvaccinated-this-33-year-old-mom-is-a-real-fucking-idiot/
I’m going back home to the states next week and I’m wondering if I should just do this to get myself a booster. I’m also curious as to the frequency of mask wearing in the counties surrounding Pittsburgh. I’ll be wearing one but I’m guessing I may be a minority.
I live in Cincinnati. My kids aren’t old enough to get vaccinated. Thus we are still wearing masks. Members of my family were the only people we saw today with masks on.
Same in East Oregon. Same in southern California. I think it might be the norm right now unfortunately.
Ive been to a Reds game, FC game, and Foo Fighters in the past three weeks. I could probably count on one hand the number of mask I saw combined. Ive been fully vaxxed for a while now so stressing about masking is a non issue in my mind. Ill be pissed if my work starts requiring mask on vaxxed as it was the biggest day to day reason I had for getting the shot in the first fucking place.
As a Fayette Co native that's currently in Pittsburgh, you'll be in the minority. Also expect people to tell you that you should stop being a sheeple and take it off.
I won’t be surprised by someone giving me shit in Beaver County where I’m visiting, it’s a little redneck there. I’m planning on a trip on the middle Yough while home, not Ohiopyle though, I’m not in shape for whitewater currently.
