I have an aunt in Beaver...I call it rustbelt redneck. Ohiopyle was essentially my backyard growing up
About the only possible side effect of the vaccine for me was this morning I woke up with a pimple on my face. I haven't had a pimple in 35 years. Kind of a weird side effect, if that's what caused it. Just weird that I suddenly got one.
Even worse. I damn near sliced the whole thing off while shaving. I'm not used to shit like that on my face.
The full gamut of side effects ran its course on Saturday. Sometime after lunch I started getting chills, to the point that I was edge trimming my lawn in 70+ weather with a hoodie. Ended up crashing around 6p for what I thought would be a nice nap, that took me out until midnight. Couldn't get back to sleep so I caught up on some Netflix, and the rest of the day was fine and symptom free. Nothing to report since, just waiting on my superpowers to come in.
UGH! Just got word at work it's back to wearing masks starting Saturday regardless of vaccination status. It wouldn't be so bad, but summers in a warehouse and wearing a mask is just gross at the end of the day. It's really disappointing that I basically stayed out of work for a year and a bit until I got vaccinated so I wouldn't be at risk and I have to go back to wearing a mask and social distancing because fucking retards can't do one of the things that at the beginning of the pandemic, everyone was clamoring for.
Same here, it’s easily 90’s everyday in my shop, it’s basically a steel oven even with the doors up, masks are now back to being a requirement. I’m hoping they go the way the county is doing it for there employees, they are making it mandatory for everyone to wear them for a month, after that the only ones who have to wear them are the unvaccinated. They also have to do daily temp checks and weekly covid tests in order to stay employed.
I'm going to take this to mean that if their dicks aren't working then they are skipping the vaccine.
Yeah, not good at all... but totally not surprising in the least. Not sure what you guys expect to happen if a huge part of your country goes full on "mah freedoms!" and doesn't get vaccinated. And now that we're at that stage where we should be able to unmask and get back out there, the unvaccinated are now walking/spreading among us. And now you're going to really start seeing the backlash from those of us who DID get vaccinated, because it's the others that are fucking it up for everyone. And you have senior leaders doubling down on this shit, and still claiming Trump won the election.
It's only going to get worse here. We went back to a mask mandate and a lot of places are ignoring/not enforcing it. I don't think a lot of people understand the special circumstances of this place with all the millions of tourists coming in from all over the world...if there's something shitty out there, it WILL end up here. And then Marge and Bob from down the block will bring it home to Anywhere, USA.
I mean look at this shit in Chicago. 75% of those people got on whatever airlines are still flying and possibly took home a special souvenir.
Yep, hubs feels almost malice against these anti vaxxers. I'm more in the "you poor dumb idiot" stage but it is really, really wearing on me. I had a bit of a break down the other night because I had to tell my mom not to come visit because we are locking down again due to the delta variant. She still hasn't met my child. This extra contagious variant is no one person's fault, but it's hard to keep your opinions of others neutral when you live in a low vax/high positive area and just want to keep your kid safe. There has been quite the uptick in cases and hospitalizations nationally. Lagging behind that, more people have been getting vaccinated too, I think in part because some of these dumb idiots are speaking out (or they know someone personally who had a bad infection), like so: https://news.yahoo.com/virginia-covid-patient-goes-invincible-021835184.html News and media have been very kind to these folks. Strategically, I think this attitude will encourage more to get vaccinated rather than going the other direction in terms of tone and messaging. We need shots in arms, asap. As much as I have to keep myself from rolling my eyes and saying "told you so, you dumfuk" it is not a helpful attitude. Plus side, I read a NY Times article with info about young children trials. Looks like 6mo-2 years is actually predicted to be ready Oct/Nov, which was earlier than I thought.
Oh look, another anti-vax religious republican dies from Covid. Sooner or later you would think these idiots would wake up. https://www.nydailynews.com/news/na...0210805-wpkrbyv23nhjjhrxjruofmqi2u-story.html
This is not helping matters. "Those who test positive are told to quarantine for two days but are ultimately released into the public."
