My dad and I brought knives past the security check point in 1996. They just asked that we put them in the little bucket with the keys. But no more of that. Now you have to take off your goddamned shoes, and if you even say "bomb," you're liable to get tackled by an undercover air marshall. All because the authorities just love pushing people around. Are we any safer in the air now that nail clippers be aren't allowed, and no more than four ounces of any particular liquid can make it past security? So why do they keep enforcing this draconian bullshit? This virus is never going away, but that's not going to stop those in power from finding ways to intrude into our lives "for our own good."
He asked if you accepted the ejaculate (orally) of a federal employee while he(assuming) was on the job?
Tomato, toh-mah-to. Since apparently this really IS the IDIOT board, my question was: since even the most compliant of people are hassled by "officers" in airline security lines, and you somehow bypassed all of that, you must have done something to receive special treatment. God dammit, you've got to explain everything to people these days...
I didn't receive special treatment, I skipped it. They set up a security checkpoint, I said "I'd rather not" and I skipped it. That's what the word skip means. Skipped. Avoided. Eschewed. Bypassed. Ignored. Etc.
Can you go into further detail about that? Why doesn't everyone skip the hassle and humiliation of security checks at the airport?
Cause y'all are suckers. There's a line for people to opt out of the scanners and receive a patdown instead. I waited in that line, and when they opened the door to let the guy in front of me through to get his patdown, I just followed him through and then walked off once I was on the far side. Easy peasy.
So then you're admitting that all of this (TSA bullshit, masking in restaurants, and other bullshit COVID restrictions) is "Security Theatre"? Because I think it is.
As far as the TSA goes, of course it is. Bag scans to keep out bombs and a lock on the cockpit door is all that's really needed. COVID is an entirely separate question with almost no overlap.
Stop being poor and get Pre-Check. You still have to go through security, but you get to keep your shoes on.
I flew to Tokyo a couple of years ago. Commuter to Toronto, international to Tokyo, then back. Each leg had to have the luggage rechecked due to customs, etc. On the final inspection, they found a big (6" blade) folding knife in a side pocket of my carry on. I think the only reason it was caught was the guy doing the checking was on some sort of final checkride for his certification, and was being evaluated. The old black guy who was his boss sat there and chatted with me while he finished his scan, and I explained how I totally missed that when I packed, how it had been in every cabin and public space with me for most of my trip... including the security checks in Tokyo (where it would have been LOTS of fun to have been found). He chuckled and shrugged his shoulders with a "whatareyougoingtodo?" and kept asking me about my wireless iphone charger and if it really worked or not. In the end I had them throw it away (it was $20 from Aliexpress so stupid cheap) and I was free to go. Of course it's security theatre. That, and an employment program.
If any terrorist thinks that even now they're fit to hijack an airplane with just knives and boxcutters...
