Why the FUCK is the news dedicating time to that bullshit? What a joke, and in this case, potentially harmful to other idiots who might believe her now that she's on the news. Well, on second thought, they are calling her out because of it, so maybe not that bad... I just hate the news so much that it's a natural knee-jerk response.

I'm guessing it's because that immediately opens the doors to provincial funding. That's why London here declared a state of emergency, even though the province already had... we now get access to those sweet provincial funds.

Makes sense, it just fucks shit up for me and the wife. We are both "essential" workers. So now we cant use my mom for day care for our daughter, we have to use the daycare we have for our younger son, which will cost us another 1k a month. And if they even so much as look funny they cant go, which mean ones of us will have to say home and we still have to pay.

Ford is now using parts that are made for F-150s for rapid ventilator production. Pretty cool.

Yeah, I think there's a lot of day to day detailed shit that will have to be worked out FAST.

Was talking to a friend of mine who has a couple of rental properties and he's lucky in that he's planned and saved for shit to go wrong, but others haven't.

All the so-called "deferred mortgage payment" process with the banks is a nightmare... tons of hoops to jump through in order to be qualified for such things, etc. It's not sustainable.

A lot of factories have potential to switch things practically overnight. Depending on the place, it’s not as hard as people think. It’s getting the corporations to $ee the benefit$ of changing up the lines.

Some people love this guy, others say he’s pulling a political stunt. But I’m sorry... aren’t you allowed to be mad when somebody tries to silence you about this issue? We are talking about lives here.

yup. This stuff sounds great in theory, in practice it takes some ironing out that has to be done on the fly. What sounds right for or to one person might have a chain reaction.

I’ll use the childcare example above because that’s my wheelhouse. You can’t risk letting in people who might be sick. Following CDC and government guidelines. So you send them home. They get vacation because these are hard times right? Well guess what, if you make a vacation exception for everyone, then the center can’t operate and it won’t be open and available for when you need it when your child is healthy again. Or for your neighbor’s child who needs it right now. What happens when everyone does go back to work and needs the childcare? The center is now closed because they allowed everyone with a child running a temp to skip tuition.

just an example. There is so much with everything that needs to be worked out, so many unintended consequences of things. The only answer that’s a for sure is that if everyone would practice patience and understanding with each other even if they’re out of patience and don’t understand, it would help everything and everyone.

The simplest solution is to just cut checks to everyone and then figure it out at tax time 2021.

More on the theme that the federal response will be to undercut any shelter in place orders:

Apparently they sent the people left in my office home yesterday for an indeterminate amount of time. That indeterminate time frame was all the way to 12:30 today. I just got a call asking me to come back to work. I laughed and let them know that was impossible.

Nice! The manager of the animal shelter has been letting public in to adopt animals after some of us leave, disobeying the board's orders to close.

The apartments I maintain keep stressing that I'm essential. Yeah, if I need to fix an emergency, I'll be there. But I'm not going to leave the house to turn one vacant so we can go from 97.5% occupied to 100%, we probably won't even find a renter anytime soon. Leave me alone about that one empty apartment.

They need to take these idiots and put them in solitary confinement. I don't care if that's harsh. I have no sympathy for them.

    I find this very interesting.

The fact that we have one party now spending almost a week holding up aid for the sake of diversity boards, funding arts, and aiding unions, but people are fuming about a wishful projection speaks volumes about how this country manages to elect such shit trash over and over.

It's kind of hard to hold anyone accountable if all people are ever going to do is just read about how team bad people is bad. It really doesn't matter how fucking useless anyone on either side of the aisle is anymore.
