I don't know why you're surprised; everyone knows the best thing to go with Corona is a little bit of Lyme.

For the first time in just about a week I ventured into town to make a couple quick stops. Traffic is really lighter than normal, and honestly it’s kinda eerie. Both places I stopped I went in and GTFO as fast as I could, touching almost nothing than what I was there for.

I told the lady at the beer store ( hey, it’s essential ) how strange it feels to be out in public after only a week. It’s gonna be interesting to see how we act when things open back up.

Actually, from what I read masks can give you a false sense of security so you are less careful. Aside from not being effective.

Dude give it a week of nice temps and people will be ready to revolt to get back to good ol spring time bar drinking. People saying this could last 18 months? They better bring bachelors to keep us inside

How's everyone hanging in there so far? Homebodies so you hardly even notice a difference? Social butterflies and it's driving you nuts?

I was fine for the first week or so, but the wife and I eat out probably 3 times a week and it's starting to suck having to make dinner every night. We've ordered take out a few times to help the local restaurants but it's just not the same as going out. Yeah yeah, people have it worse but we are starting to go a little stir crazy.

I generally have no problem cooking dinner most nights, but now that we're on mandatory lock-down, we decided to sign up for one of those meal delivery services (Sun Basket, but that was just my personal preference) so that the wife can do some cooking as well. It's easier for her since they send you exactly what you need and comes with pretty easy to follow directions. Price wise, I know I could be making the same thing for probably a third of the cost from the service, but it's still cheaper than eating out at most places.

A few more weeks of this would turn me (Back) into an alcoholic. It's bad being in a motel room, but miles better then being stuck inside with Crazy. I would've gutted him by now.

I just went to the local Safeway and their shelves are full. Their prices are also outrageous...shit I pay $2 for in Vegas is $4. Just about everything I normally buy was $2 more. Last time I go there.

Hubby and I went to a restaurant supply to stock up. We have two teenage boys that are in the middle of growth spurts so we have to keep a good stock on hand regardless of lockdowns. Our freezer is full and I guess I’m ready for whatever now.

I'm stuck on a ranch with guns and fishing and it's terrible. Terrible I tell ya.

Though I would give anything to go back to my normal routine. I'm one of the few who actually enjoys going to work it seems like. I'm still working from home, kinda more on-call than anything, but it's not the same. Hopefully the gym I go to is able to re-open. We have a spin bike arriving on friday, hunkering down for the long haul. I don't expect to get out of here with any kind of regularity for at least another month.

We have crested 60,000 cases and are on our way to 1000 dead.

Literally every expert I have heard over the past few weeks has nothing. No solution. Nothing to prevent this from spreading to millions of people.

This is like watching a stabbing one frame at a time. We blew our containment window and will now reap the whirlwind.

We'll be at over 100k by the end of this week and 1m by April 4. By the time we get to Easter, we'll likely be at well over 10M cases, which I think will actually stretch the capacity of the reporting agencies to even track.

I am baffled at the people who are saying this will blow over soon. I have no idea how that's possible, and neither do any of the government officials I have heard.

Miracle, herd immunity, vaccine, or summer weather....no evidence to support any of it actually coming to pass before 200k-3m people die.

The places that have this under control are in my humble opinion 1. Difficult to fully believe. 2. Had a highly coordinated and extremely unified response, early on. and 3. Do not have the co-morbidities the US has when it comes to infection. So, what this means is "what worked for thee won't work for me".

Trump wants things "raring" by Easter...he'll have them, all right.

Honestly, other than keeping my mom inside and running a few errands for her that she'd normally do herself, it's kind of business as usual. If anything, work is busier than ever, between current projects going live this week, as well as new projects coming on and hiring.

Turns out that my natural state of being is pretty pandemic compatible... don't go to bars, would rather stay in and cook than go out (except for special occasions), keep lots of food on hand normally.

I usually buy perishable fruits/veggies more frequently (like lettuce every couple of days, etc), but that's changed to basically shopping every 2 weeks and buying more long-lasting veggies... and I look like a raging alcoholic buying huge bottles at the liquor store.

My free time is now spent doing yard work, cleaning up the shop, buying new woodworking tools, home office renos (nothing needed from Home Depot, mostly processing the wood into custom floors, etc), electronics projects (self-watering seedling stuff), etc.

    And Doom Eternal.

So yeah... turns out I do 99% of my socializing online. Who'd a thunk it?

The NASCAR drivers running the virtual race on Sunday was pretty popular. I don't know why MLB and NHL are doing this, too, letting their star players compete in some head-to-head video games, televised. Professional sports has some legit trash talkers. To be able to hear them @ each other would be great.

The low was when I realized I'd been subconsciously tagging my wife on shared facebook memes. While we were laying in the same bed.

    Apparently I am that guy.

I went back to work for the first day today. Again, I work in e-commerce fulfillment (warehouse) for a clothing store. Here's how we're dealing with stuff for those interested in how things are working:

-The staff is on rotation, I would guess today we were between 1/3 to 1/2 of the staff. It's a 3-day rotation
-One schedule per shift (we used to get to choose a start time between 6:30 and 8:00 AM and just work 8 hours from that, now we all start at 6:30 so we all leave at the same time)
-We get off an hour earlier than usual, so they can do a deep-clean of anywhere we've been working before the night shift comes in
-We work the same area the entire shift (we used to switch areas after lunch to break monotony)
-Social distancing - six-foot rules apply all day
-The break room has been set up so that only two people can sit at a table, across from each other. Our chair at break is our chair all day, for all breaks and lunch. They are cleaning tables and chairs multiple times a day
-Hand washing, hand sanitizing, all the time. We're wearing gloves all day for every job. If your glove breaks we have to immediately wash our hands, sanitize and re-glove

It's really not that bad, except it's really hard to talk to people from six feet away in a warehouse, if they're not the kind of person whose voice projects. Also, when I'm putting shipping labels on boxes, the gloves get stuck to the adhesive, so I had to go through about six pairs of gloves.

I was expecting worse that it was. Looks like our orders are about two days behind. About 95% of the orders were for women, and I assume they have a short, choppy haircut and will want to speak to the manager whenever the stores open back up.

Also I had to get my body back on my poop schedule, so I could get home and have a satisfying afternoon dump.

I hear ya. My daughters routine is all fucked up now and the autism is in full blowout at the moment because of it.

My boys are being a big help in that area, but it’s a lot of ask of them when they’re suffering too.

It’s a shame for them that camwhoring isn’t already 15 years old and played out. But, yeah.... what DO they do? Their biker boyfriends can’t even force them to prostitute as an alternative since nobody will be out or into it.
