I've never had a WFH job but I assumed people just dressed from the waist up. Turns out that's not for everyone. Talked to a friend of mine whose now working from home and she get's completely dressed every day. Down to picking out "cute shoes" and the like. Maybe it's just for her sake of normalcy.
Now would really be a good time to get into the home office retail and/or tech/setup and support business. A lot of people will go back to physical offices after everything gets solved. But a lot of people won’t, too.
When I started my own company, I worked out the house for about 18 months. I found myself still in my pajamas at 3:00 pm. When I got up, showered and dressed like I was going to the office, I was much more productive.
Well our premier just said the local cities can make there own rules about travel and that should be left up to him. So now we can travel inter province with no travel restrictions, stupid mother fucker.
What were the actual travel restrictions? We dont really have those here, most Ive heard are just advisories.
Basically most of the smaller towns were stating do not travel outside of this town. Just to limit the chance of it spreading. We currently do not have any cases in our town right now and they were trying to keep it that way by saying dont travel. Lots of Canada is pretty rural and easier to isolate.
We do, or at least I do because I live in Florida. Anyone coming into the state from a high risk area has to be quarantined for 14 days. Obviously they can manage this at the airports, but I'm not sure how effective they are with people coming in by car. Hawaii and Alaska have similar rules already. I'm sure more will follow.
Say what you will about Doug Ford, but I'm impressed with how he's handled everything so far. He's not worried about anyone hating him, because most do anyway, and he's making some hard calls that a lot of people don't like. Gotta give the guy credit.
Our are anyone who has traveled more than 100 miles has to quarantine for 14 days. Again, not sure how they're gonna enforce that, but thems the rules.
I haven't been anywhere but home and work for 12 days, and I've been wearing a mask at work since the 11th, but somehow I've managed to get a fever. Let's see where this goes....
They are reporting that a new symptom is lack of smell or taste... so keep an eye out for that as well. https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsa...-symptom-of-covid-19-doctors-want-to-find-out
Lockdown in Orange County starts at 11 p.m. tonight and runs through 11 p.m. on 9 April. You can leave to get groceries, prescriptions, doctors appointments, to go outside to exercise and to care for others. The list of organizations that are excluded is pretty sizable as well. They include landscapers, auto mechanics, supply houses, etc. Unfortunately for me, I am considered part of the critical infrastructure associated with one of the 16 categories. My on site project team is down to 14 from over 80, with everyone else working remotely. It's pretty difficult but I am really happy we are keeping the 600 or so craft workers from being laid off. We are taking on a lot of additional measures - daily/hourly sanitizing of facilities, social distancing and daily temperature checks of everyone before allowing people on site. The real struggle is the on-site clinic and nurse are running low on supplies and there is near no change of getting more any time soon.
That might have to do with the current state of emergency in Ontario. He did tell everyone to go and travel for March break, hours before they closed the schools for an extra two weeks.
US now has most reported cases in the world. Also, just had a 5.0 earthquake in Texas, because fracking apparently?
A bunch of my in-laws are getting together at a ranch because apparently the concept of "quarantine" is malleable depending on your intelligence level. Of the people in that group, several of them believe this is a "democratic hoax." Which I'm choosing to believe also means they don't practice hand washing, safe distancing, and common sense right now or possibly ever. Sadly, they're not necessarily the healthiest group. And of the people they have regular contact with outside that group who is going, there are quite a few who would die quite quickly from COVID. I told my brother in law that if he is around them, he has to stay away from our family for 2 weeks. He asked why. "Because you were a fucking idiot." His wife is diabetic.
Latest info from Iceland shows that 50% of those that have tested positive have zero symptoms. Ever. As in they just walk around giving it to others, without any of the symptoms. https://english.alarabiya.net/en/fe...sting-finds-half-of-carriers-show-no-symptoms Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
So we’re sure this virus wasn’t created in a lab somewhere? Because it’s starting to seem like it was designed to kill as many people as possible
