If you click through his link there is at least one fairly extensive rebuttal to the video that highlights the errors in it. I'm not saying the WHO has been 100% on the ball, because there is at least some evidence they took China's assertions at face value when they shouldn't have, but they are also being unfairly maligned for using precise language that people aren't treating as precise. What they tweeted was: "no clear evidence of {A}" is not "clear evidence of NOT {A}." The same day as the tweet, the WHO announced in a press briefing that there may have been H-to-H transmission, and that it wouldn't be surprising because of similarities to MERS, SARS, etc. Eight days later they said they had preliminary evidence of H-to-H transmission, but more research was needed to confirm.
Damnit, I couldn't be any more disappointed about that being a fake interview. Really, I'm heartbroken.
y'all might wanna stock up on sunscreen before it's all gone. Over the next few weeks there's gonna be millions of extremely pale people rushing outside for the first time in like 2 months and I predict a major hoarding rush on banana boat
In conjunction there are these types of articles - https://www.oregonlive.com/health/2...-tie-to-covid-19-unclear-state-data-show.html The chorus will continue to grow. The numbers who die because they don't seek medical treatment while the hospitals empty out will grow. The numbers of people starving will continue to grow. The numbers who are unemployed and can't access unemployment benefits grows. When the smoke clears the numbers of lockdown rapes, molestations, domestic abuse, elder abuse, etc. are going to be staggering - weighed with financial impacts it is going to get more and more difficult to accept that going beyond social distancing at that particular moment in time was the right thing to do.
You are talking about citizens like they’ve been serving a life sentence in a state prison. This started two months ago. “Lockdown rapes” that’s a new one. As opposed to all the other horrendous crimes that would be occurring right now that isn’t— at all— cops are so bored they have to go HUNT for trespassers to write up right now. If people aren’t getting along with the people they’re trapped with that isn’t the fault of the lockdown. That’s the fault of them being shitty, or their relationship being shitty. This shit isn’t hard, if you’re a stable and logical person. People can whine, bitch, and protest this lockdown all they want like the soft and spoiled fucks that they are. But they’re a) not smart, and b) not correct. Sit in your climate-conditioned home with every form of entertainment at your fingertips and cry about your “oppression” in private before life comes at you fast: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1194591
Not a great example linked as a life lesson since the woman recovered without complications and is going out for more protests. I don’t think people are going to be starving to death but you’re pretty flippant about people in really hard situations where providing for their families the cost of which outweighs the possible outcomes of them catching the virus (it’s not a death sentence for the vast vast majority and a whole lot of people struggling aren’t going to be in the high risk groups). There certainly are human consequences that need to be weighed. Both people here that are working with their respective governments to formulate and execute plans to reopen. It’s at the point where reassessment is happening and people stuck on complete lockdown mode are the busy body Karen’s snitching on their neighbors for minor distancing infractions.
That's kind of burying your head in the sand, and showing no empathy for people in a hard spot. Being locked up with your abuser is a legit problem that is made worse by the COVID lockdowns.
In Spokane business burglaries are up 138% and I read about a week ago that subway robberies in NYC are up somewhere around 50%....even with no one riding the subway. In Chicago the murders go on like always. Surprisingly, criminals apparently don't give a damn about stay at home orders.
No, it’s because most murder is essentially familial or tribal. The less state imposed law available, and the more closely bonded the community, the more murders will increase. I’m surprised it’s not worse; a lockdown is a recipe for triggering long standing grievances and that’s when shit goes down. That the murder rate is unchanged makes sense.
Why bother when you can just bring a body with a bullet in it to the hospital and the Establishment™ will mark it as a corona death?
Pretty sure I have it. Praying to God I don't spread it to my mom. Trying to get tested, and it's a fucking joke. Fuck.
Or you could burn the body and say he was doing yard work under a 5G tower. Even science can’t disprove that. Apparently.
do you have an oximeter? And if so, what's the reading? My understanding is that's kinda the easiest way to tell as far as if you need immediate medical care or not. Either way, the spreading thing is what terrifies me about getting it -- if I get it, I think I'd be fine since I'm not remotely in any of the vulnerable groups. But by the time I did realize I had it, I could have spread it around to so many people who were vulnerable.
Ya'll want some commemorative coins? https://www.whitehousegiftshop.com/product-p/covid-heroes.htm They misspelled Mnuchin's name in the description, but sadly didn't fuck up the coin itself. For full disclosure, I have learned that the White House Gift Shop is a private business that describes itself as "the White House Gift Shop, Est. 1946 by permanent order of President Harry S. Truman is the "only original authorized" White House Gift Shop serving America, & global friends of America for over 70 years!" so take that for what it's worth.
don't wanna get my hopes up just to be let down, but Dr. Fauci reporting the drug remedesivir can block COVID and diminish time to recovery If it was anyone other than Dr. Fauci, I wouldn't think twice about it. But it is, so I think that carries significant weight.
That's great news. If we can find another treatment or two that in combo shut Covid down we can get back to our normal lives.
