Re: Gimme a, gimme a redneck girl I watched it out of morbid curiosity and I can't believe people like that are real. I don't know what "not southerners at all" means, cause they are all very much Southern white trash and its not like they dropped them in Charleston or Savannah. Granted half the cast is from Louisiana with that weird Cajun accent, so maybe thats why they don't relate to them. That being said, that chick, Lil Bit (yes thats her ENTIRELY original nickname), is ridiculous hot. She's like 4 feet tall but her body is completely on point. There is another white trash mess with a perfect porn star body, but she kind of has a derp face and alligators up and die every time she opens her moronic mouth.
Re: Gimme a, gimme a redneck girl "I love poles! I think I was a stripper in my former life." "We gotta blow shit up before we blow this HOUSE UP!!!" ...some people were put on this earth to be seen, and never speak. CMT has really jumped the shark here. It's like they've bound and gagged the traditional country people to a chair, pried open their eyes and forced them to watch as their culture is stolen right before their eyes and turned into this metrosexual mess.
Re: Gimme a, gimme a redneck girl Do you know what metrosexual means? None of those dudes are metrosexual. Only one idiot even looks like he washes his hair and thats to keep his frosted tips extra crisp. Fucking idiots not-representative of most Southerners, sure.
That show is "real" the same way every other shit reality show is "real", producers feeding them lines and setting up scenes, why the fuck people buy into this shit is beyond me, the same way people think Moonshiners is real. Fuck I hate people.
Seeing the "before" pictures of the Duck Dynasty cast was one of my favourite highlights ( as in hilarious) of 2013. My god, I'm sure they got their styling tips from Andrew McCarthy in Pretty in Pink.
I've always wondered how shows get off showing/pimping stuff that's illegal. I mean I always figured it was fake (there's no way in hell that, if it wasn't, those cast members wouldn't get arrested within 15 minutes of the pilot episode), but it's a bit shocking to me that the glorification of that way of life hasn't put the producers and cameramen in serious jeopardy by people who want their (actual) illegal shit on the down low.
Why is there such a discussion of what is "real country?" If farm boys in Oklahoma are listening to Luke Bryant and Tim McGraw isn't that real enough? Does every country musician have to come up on a farm and play over steel guitars? Granted I tend not to like newer country because it is annoying and poppy, but that is the direction the genera has taken so isn't that todays real country. Also Garth is awesome and an Okie so fuck off. And Brad Paisley is a bad assed guitarist.
