So challenge for you guys, I am in a lame draft type competition on another forum. since this is so important, obviously I want to win. Draft is for best 90's song list, rules being that basically it must have been released as a single in the US in the 90s. I have a pretty good list in my head but I am sure there are epic songs I am forgetting (which reminds me that I should add Epic to my list). What do ya got? Any genre will be considered (FYI songs I have already drafted for good or bad are Karma Police, Nothin' But a G Thang, and Freedom 90, I am going for the diversity vote)
Well shit I am on my iPhone so can't view youtubes here, so titles would be nice (or I could catch up when I get home from the pool). I guess the answer would be preferably songs that are both so I have the best shot of winning. An epic song that nobody has heard of wouldn't garner many votes I am afraid
How about 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins. Or hell, there are three or four song from that album that could be considered epic. Epic for the 90's and epic all time. Tonight, tonight...
My favorite SP song is Bullet With Butterfly Wings and that has been picked. A guess a second fav would be Zero, which is prefer to 1979. good suggestion though. I had overlooked them for some reason and they dominated the 90s
Anyone seen Liberty! The American Revolution? It's the PBS series, not the History Channel's The Revolution (which I assume is about the future robot uprising, based on the other shows they have).
How about Mr. Jones by the Counting Crows? Or November Rain by Guns N' Roses. Or Creep by Radiohead. I could do this all day. In other news I'm going to start drinking soon in honor of the Womens World Cup(like I need a reason). Go U.S.A.!!
I really love this Smashing Pumpkins song... saw a stripper dance to this song and that was all I needed.
November Rain has been drafted. Too bad because that qualifies as all kinds of epic. Mr jones is a great choice though. I need to find a couple loungy type more obscure ones to hit all the bases. Maybe something like Massive Attack Kormacova or 6 Underground (Glory Box unfortunately already drafted), and maybe a techno type too
Cracker - Teen Angst They even have the clothes you would imagine from the time. There's tons of bands I can list off, it's really kind of pathetic how many songs I have from "90s" bands. It's in the 1000s.
Ok, so you guys don't follow directions so well. Clearly I am going to have to wait until I get home to continue this
