Had a recording session in a church with the band this morning. So it's the first time in over a year I've been in a church, and probably the first time I've been hung over in a church. Victory? Well, the five hours of sleep didn't help matters.

I'm watching a documentary on killer whales. I'm way too drunk for this.

GOD DAMN. I'm rewatching the pilot of Mad Men for the 5th time or so (I haven't watched the series that many times, but for some reason I've watched the pilot a lot) and it is FLAWLESS. I can't think of another pilot more flawless. They usually feel either too disconnected from how the series ends up being, or are too forced with introducing the characters and story lines but this one is pitch-perfect with writing, acting, character development, everything. I even noticed this awesome layer that may not have been intentional, but it's when they're talking about Freud with the researcher over the Lucky Strike account and Sal says something like "So you're telling me that Freud thinks everyone acts one way while secretly believing another? That's ridiculous!" which is a funny little foreshadowing since
    Sal is gay.
So good. I am SO MAD that the new season isn't going to be happening until next year.

I really need to watch The Wire already to see if I think it's as good or - gasp! - better because that's the only other show I've heard of people saying has anywhere near the level of quality writing Mad Men does.

Guess who is drunk! That's right, this guy is. Pool party was a great success, no thanks to everyone else being older and more mature and laid back about their drinking. This guy still got drunk!

Now it's time to jam out to some OAR and drink a couple more beers!

I've watched both and in my opinion it's not even close; The Wire is superior. It is the greatest show ever made. I feel genuine sadness for people who haven't experienced The Wire. One time I thought really hard about one thing The Wire didn't do well...and I couldn't think of anything. It's just absolutely perfect in every way.

So who here has ever wrestled a rear hatch for an '82-92 GM F-body (Firebird/Camaro) single-handedly?
If you haven't, I can tell you it's a pain in the ass (and possibly the neck and back). It weighs about 100 pounds; not a particularly heavy item in the grand scheme of things, but it's made of glass, so you have to be very delicate with it.
I have to re-adjust the rear hatch after a minor rear impact that my car suffered about 2 years ago, and that means a lot of pain-in-the-ass adjustments and re-adjustments to get it to close properly without having rain and wind leak in (admittedly, rain hasn't really been a problem for me).

I'll get it all figured out, so here's some badass music:

JUST WHEN YOU THINK THE SONG IS OVER, IT KEEPS GOING!

    And another one:

And just so no one bitches and moans:
