I mean, she's attractive to me too, but I wouldn't say she's like my type? He seems to like that sort of look above others though.

Weekend visitor just left to head back to TO with a short stop to see her folks. Yesterday consisted of drinking blender drinks in the sun, and when that went down we retired to the hot tub to drink red wine, eat mini lamb-chops and Ben and Jerry's, while watching Archer and UFC.

And yet another great day today... stupidly hot, and the lake is jammed full of people taking advantage of the last (first?) bit of summer before heading back to school and the rain.

Normally, I'd be all grumpy and "get off my lawn"-ish about people filling up my lake, but today wasn't one of those times. I heard a scream of terror from a little girl not long ago which triggered one of those "holy fuck something is wrong" adrenaline reactions. Fearing the worst, I headed around the house to the dock only to find the screams had transformed into squeals of awesomeness. There was a small jon boat with a father and 2 kids in it, and a little girl of 8 or so had just caught her first fish. I saw her when she had just hauled the tiny crappie out of the water and it was hanging in the air about 3 feet over the water. She was so excited, as was her father. The brother, not so much. Dad then helped her unhook the fish, at which point she grabbed it, kissed it, giggled, and threw it about 25' through the air and back into the water, with a "go bite my hook again!". Not sure it survived the re-entry, but I'm not sure she cared.

    Hilarious.

Now watching the end of the F1 race, finishing off some wine and food from last night.

Is it just me, or is Ron White way too funny to be associated with the Blue Collar Comedy tour?

This is a legitimate question, by the way. It's unclear to me if he's actually funny or if I just have questionable taste.

Has anyone else been following what happened in Vermont today? Their roads got fucked. My best friends family owns a store in Rutland and they're currently stuck at the store because all routes to their house are either washed out or flooded. My thoughts are with anyone on this board who is a Vermonter and have been affected by the storm.

If you watch his older videos on YouTube, he doesn't really have the whole hillbilly vibe. I think he plays it up for the tour. His general style is different from the rest of them, too. They're comics whose acts are centered around being yokels. He's a comic who happens to sound like a yokel while doing his act, which I think is totally solid.

Ron White is seriously funny, in my opinion. If you look at his standup from before he joined Blue Collar, it's clear to see that he's dumbed his stuff down a lot since joining.

He's got some classically funny shit with just him, a glass full of scotch, and a cigarette.

Have any of you listened to Jay Mohr's podcasts? That shit is hilarious and he talks a lot about comics and their craft. It is fascinating and his Tracy Morgan is spot on. Hell, I'd just listen to him do the whole show as Tracy.

Turns out my dad can make acceptable wine out of a juice concentrate. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Red Stripe isn't all that great of a brew, although the commercials are mildly entertaining.

It's better than the natty that I'm drinking now that the kiddos have been picked up.

I'm drinking Bud Light, in a small gesture to my waistline. It's doing the trick, so I shall not complain.

Wouldn't the most calorically efficient drink be, y'know, booze? Granted, to make it something you can nurse for a while, you'd need water or club soda or diet soda, but it seems like it should still hold the edge.
