Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 No kidding, watching hockey is like watching paint dry. The Canadians can keep it.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 Ok, am I the only person who vomits after getting a really bad sunburn?
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 Hockey is our co-national sport. We also have Lacrosse: ....and you can't run out of bounds in either of these sports. You can in basketball, but then again a Canadian invented that sport as well.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 I got lost in the Ottawa Valley on my bike yesterday and went through Almonte, home down of Dr. James Naismith. Rode past his birthplace or something like that. Otherwise, he actually invented the sport while in the States, so.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 Here is one thing I don't understand. The sport you are playing explicitly gives you what is essentially a weapon. If you are in nothing but a brawl why would drop it and go to fisticuffs? I would be doing my best impression of Donatello if I was involved in that.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 Ever see outdoor lax? I'm pretty sure you can run out of bounds.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 We'll probably have to start a new hockey league soon, since commisioner Bettman et all are bound and determined to continue with the pussification of the NHL.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 Well, I'm having a fucking weird day. I'm visiting home this weekend, and when I woke up this morning I noticed this pile of stuff on the desk. I went over to it and saw it was a bunch of photos and papers from my mom's side of the family. I saw her graduation photo, which was nice because I only have a few photos of her and they're all from when she was older. I read a couple of letters she wrote to her dad, including one about a trip to Paris where she had a lot of similar experiences as I did, and one complaining about me entering my Terrible Twos. There was also the eulogy my uncle wrote for my grandpa ( he died when I was 4) that was ten pages long and taught me so much about family history from that side, which I know basically nothing about. (Fun fact, my grandpa turned down the Yankees, Indians, and Braves, was a fighter pilot in ww2, and was apparently a bit of an asshole.) I stop reading, and after getting a minute or so to let it sink in, I get a text from my best friend - who is also visiting home this weekend but is currently much farther upstate at a family reunion of sorts - which says: "Long story short: my whole family just saw a medium. No joke, she looked straight at me, and told me that Roberta was with her. Asked if I knew a Roberta with breast cancer and said that she watches over the two of us." Yeah, that's my mom. And my dad isn't home and I'm in the stupid country and I don't have a car and I do not know what to do with myself right now.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 Ask that medium if she can tell you where my wedding ring is.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 At least there wasn't any weird sex stuff.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 Poor, Kubla. The day he went from thinking his mom was just really into sewing to knowing she's a furry.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 I went to a place last night that had $1.35 yuengling on draft. Hello hangover.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 I went to brunch and I'm feeling slightly tipsy after my 2 mimosas. Meeting my girlfriends in a bit. Is it considered poor form to show up to Sunday Funday inebriated? Oops.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 No way, that's awesome. That's excelling at Sunday Funday.
Re: Thursday Drunk Thread, 'Cause I Do What I Want! 5/17/12 Didn't Mrs. Noland lose hers awhile back too? What the hell do y'all do with those rings, play jai alai with them? When my rings come off, they go in the ring dish until they go back on my fingers.
