A multipronged approach would be better, but probably wouldn't be possible by EO. Allow educational debts to be discharged in bankruptcy, beef up funding and accessibility for CCs for affordable higher education. Why don't they look at erasing the interest of the loans rather than just a flat amount? Seems like the interest is the biggest problem. The additional funds for pell grantees is a nice touch though. Links? I actually haven't seen any news about this and would love to see it.
The one I saw recently: https://www.justice.gov/usao-ma/pr/florida-man-arrested-25-million-covid-relief-fraud There are more than a few others that I saw of morons just thinking they got a cool 7-figures from the government.
It happened with everyone. I've yet to see a verified account complaining about the student loan forgiveness that didn't have their own PPP loan posted as a reply.
The stated purpose of the PPP loans was to cover payroll for companies that had lost revenue due to pandemic measures (in reality the purpose was to maintain our weird fascination with the Protestant Work Ethic by insisting that direct aid be funneled through an employer, lest we ever be accused of helping the undeserving). Tons of companies that weren't actually experiencing any revenue losses applied for these loans as well, which had the result of just being a government handout to the owners. This was particularly prevalent in the "twitter shitposting" industry, because pandemic measures don't affect the revenues of companies whose operations and product are both 100% digital. So for these folks to be complaining about student loan forgiveness, when they themselves received anywhere from 2x to 100x the amount in a separate loan forgiveness program from the government, strikes folks as a tad hypocritical.
Ooohhh. I thought you were comparing the Govt forcing a company to close vs an adult agreeing to take a loan out for school.
So, this is really funny. The official WhiteHouse and Biden Twitter accounts are calling out Representatives by name and dropping harsh facts. https://twitter.com/whitehouse/status/1562916200866267138?s=21&t=u52QD6xjlYIzPbexu8pxaQ
This just made my day. It’s easy to joke about (see picture above), but the reality it… yeah. Don’t throw stones. Imo, you signed a contract on a loan, pay it. Be a big boy. That being said, it was something Biden campaigned on, it is capped at a certain income bracket, and with all the money the government wastes every day at least this will go directly to people who need it.
Meanwhile on the Republican side... Let's put aside all of the regular insanity in that meme, and just focus on the fact that there is no person, either in LiberalLand or MagaWorld, who believes that the role of Donald Trump's Scottie Pippin is filled by Andy fucking Biggs. Andy Biggs isn't even the most noteworthy dude named Biggs, and the other one is only famous for fucking a pie.

What is the deal with the Biden administration hiring stupid bimbos? Seriously, listen to Karine Jean-Pierre struggle - and FAIL MISERABLY- to explain why people flying into the US must be vaxxed or be denied entry, but but you can cross the border with Mexico and go wherever you want. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pDo475rlpA0
