Instead of the government feeding a slow trickle of leaks to the media, it would be nice if they just told us what the fuck was up for once. Most speculation of about anything in the last couple years has been bullshit, so I'll wait until the actual information is released. The best case scenario would be that it amounts to absolutely nothing, the worst case is that it's intel on other nations' capabilities that we use in our own war game response scenarios.
Exactly. I think right now the strategy is to delay and stymie the process long enough to get past the elections in the hopes of a GOP victory. Then those soulless, ball-less fucks will sweep it under the rug.
This politics as a sport bullshit started with Gingrich and ramped up under subsequent Republican leadership. Those here my age or older can remember a time when the two sides compromised and negotiated. If one party got the upper hand, it was because they were better at that process. Then Gingrich, and famously O’Connell, came along and decided to block any Democratic measure, even if it was a good one. And conversely they spent decades advancing no productive measures of their own, until recently, when taking away peoples rights to pander to the religious right finally became something they did blatantly as opposed to in back rooms. Now on both sides everything is a victory, a win, a loss, etc. None of them give a fuck about this country, they just want to “win”.
You ever watch Presidential debates from the 80s and early 90s and just cry like a stripper over her bachelor's degree?
Awesome. I bet the Capitol police were just as proud to see this posted. You now have entire state police departments indoctrinated into his cult.
DeSantis spent $12m on a publicity stunt flying immigrants to Martha's Vinyard. Look for more GOP antics to distract from abortion, inflation, Dark Brandon and Trump as we get closer to November.
Who cares, they should send more buses every single day until the federal government wakes up and deals with it.
What exactly is the Biden administration/ Democrats' end goal with this open-border policy? Some people say it's all a ploy to gain a consistent voter base once they get citizenship, but I don't think most people realize how conservative most people are from that part of the world. Trump actually gained votes with Latinos.
The Republican plan for dealing with illegal immigration: https://getyarn.io/yarn-story/7493494a-1604-4fab-88d7-b153147546f6
What open border policy? Biden has gotten a monetary commitment from Mexico to spend more on border security, has not cut funding levels for border security on the US side, and has deployed new technologies to the border to make existing agents more effective. Just because he doesn't go down to the border and yell "wetback!" at approaching migrants doesn't mean he has an open border policy.
Well they told Latinos that the gendered pronouns of Spanish are offensive and Beto O'Rourke changed his name to sound more ethnic. I'm not sure what else you're looking for?
I think it has to do with his campaign promises to undo Trump restrictions and create new EOs? Like where he said Undoing executive orders issued by Trump https://www.migrationpolicy.org/news/public-charge-final-rule-far-last-word In June over 200,000 illegal immigrants were caught crossing the southern border, which is over 300% increase from those apprehended in Trump Junes. (Maybe they're better at catching them now?) https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-land-border-encounters Even though illegal border crossings are up by a large percentage, Biden reduced prosecution by 80%. https://freebeacon.com/biden-admini...osecutions-for-most-illegal-border-crossings/ I'm guessing it's those sorts of things, but I don't know if it's a policy, per se.
I'm sure I'm in the minority of this group, But DeSantis and Abbot sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary areas has me laughing and I hope they keep doing it.
I want the Biden administration to tighten up and pay attention to the HUGE increase in migrant numbers. (I mean, c'mon if even NBC news isn't ignoring it: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/im...elms-border-patrol-shelters-el-paso-rcna47588) But, I don't really like that DeSantis and Abbot have resorted to these stunts, that are costing a bunch of money. I wish there were another way. And, the buses can't make the trip from TX to D.C. and NYC without stopping, so a lot of the riders know that it's cheaper to live in GA and SC, so they're getting off there, instead of going all the way. That's one of the reasons DeSantis flew them to Martha's Vineyard - can't hop off the plane.
Are people unaware that most of these "sanctuary areas" are where most immigrants end up anyway? It's not like they cross the border and then plop down in these barren border towns; they move inward toward family and jobs, the way everyone else does. The states with the most illegal immigrants are California and Texas (as you'd expect) and then Florida, Illinois and New York. New Jersey has more illegal immigrants than Arizona does. Illegal immigrants don't want to be in Laredo, they want to be in Chicago and New York City. The idea that Abbott is "giving sanctuary cities a taste" is missing the entire history of immigration.
I feel that almost have to. When you have Kamala saying the borders are secure in her most recent interview, that means either they don't know or don't care. Neither are acceptable.
