Basically, I think this is a case of "shoot, ready, aim". I think there are issues that have to be addressed with respect to bad people coming from predominately bad areas of the world, but this was a fucking stupid way to go about it that caused a lot of problems for a lot of people, never mind bad optics. It seems to me this is a case of him thinking, "how hard or nuanced could this be? just stop everyone from these countries and we can call it a day". No thought to the repercussions or realistic implementation of those policies. It can almost boil down to an idiot who thinks he's smarter than he is. Like how he kicked the Joint Chiefs off of the Security Council, but put Bannon on it.
Exactly, so let's step back and let's review the rules. Change them where necessary and where it makes sense then let's move on once we have it figured out. One caveat, gun laws aren't a good example. Gun laws are based around citizen's rights. Foreign nationals don't have rights in America until they are citizens, so editing entry policy and editing gun laws are kind of different.
This seems another example of President Troll. Its short term havoc because we are used to taking the president seriously, and long term unenforceable nonsense. He does something ridiculous to bait the media and meanwhile his conversation with Putin scoots under the radar... This bigotry paradigm he keeps flaming seems like a troll or a distraction and the media and the left keeps falling for it.
This isnt about anything you can prove other than country of origin on a plane ticket. He agitates a country more or less.powerless to do anything about it based on taking fox news as policy advice and the media goes apeshit. Meanwhile, his cabinet can start running shit into the ground with no risk of coverage, and he can do backdoor shit without risk of exposure.
So, since you brought it up; talking to Putin. Now foreign diplomacy is a bad thing too? Reports on the discussion are that it centered on strengthening ties between the two countries and defeating ISIS. Are those bad ideas? I'm all for being critical of our politicians because frankly I don't like any of them but I have a hard time finding anything wrong with talk of peace between the US and Russia as well as discussions about defeating ISIS.
Trump campaigned on a muslim ban Giuliani said it was a muslim ban altered as little as possible to pass constitutional muster (or at least attempt to) Bannon, the likely architect of the policy, is a nationalist who isn't in favor of most kinds of immigration, legal or not
Sounds like Obama might be the architect of the policy. Well look at the outrage over the other Executive Orders, none of which are anything of real concern. Trump did a terrible job explaining his plan and he's far too administrative in his approach. He should elaborate, publicize and explain himself for the slightest controversy because the perception of him is his own fault. He dug himself into this hole, he shouldnt be surprised when it starts filling with water. All the Democrats are coming out of the woodwork because it gives them the perfect opportunity to light the torches for 2018. Hillary already feels like a distant memory, and that's what they want.
Townhall is trash. That said, Obama's action (which was to sign a bill passed by the Congress and then add to the program it specified) was about limiting visa waivers for certain countries. Meaning that individuals from those countries would require a visa before being admitted to the United States. That is a far cry from a policy in which visas are denied without exception (and effectively revoked for those not currently in the country), and even green card holders are only allowed into the country on a case-by-case basis.
It was actually about potentially increasing the steps required to obtain a visa, which could include an in-person interview at the US embassy.
Once more then I will leave it alone because we all see what we want to see. How does this executive order affect immigration from predominantly Muslim countries like Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia and KSA?
Honestly, I don't now what their next move is. What I do know is that no one goes for the whole hog all at once. Getting the public to accept a religiously based ban (but not technically, wink wink) is the first step.
Guys, it's been a whole page since we discussed the fact that Audrey fucked a nazi, Anne Frankly I'm not ok with these kinds of important issues going undiscussed.
I don't want to keep trying half-baked ideas and then having to come up with a new idea when it fails. We need a final solution.
I have a sibling at the atlanta airport which is basically shut down due to the protests. She said it's starting to get "aggressive" were her words. I don't see this ending well.
This is probably a fine time to bring this up, cause I think this is actually the likely individual who Audrey fucked in Brooklyn. http://hipsterhitler.com/ Beer is my fav but the whole series is gold.
