How is that going to do anything but fuck up the GOP's chances?

On one hand, this makes me want to take up smoking again, on the other, I'm really stoked to see a Trump/ Desantis fight.

I'm HOPING Trump doesn't get the Republican nomination, and goes rogue.

I haven't seen a third party take a chunk out of the majority's vote since Perot.

Also, this news disproves my theory that the Republican party had a deal with Trump to keep him out of prison, so long as he doesn't try running again.

At this point, I just think he's running to pull major campaign finances to pad his pocket. As it is, I seem to remember reading that his current financial support of his endorsed candidates resulted in him keeping 90% of the funds he collected on their behalf.

Dude is fleecing the sheep, big time.

There’s a very, very small chance he gets the nomination. I think I have a greater chance of my brain tumor coming back at this point though. The gop is FURIOUS with him right now. Literally this is the worst possible time for him to announce. There was supposed to be a “red wave” during the midterms, and basically he fucked it up by endorsing candidates. Him and Cancun cruz are taking the brunt of the blame. There’s still a small fraction who do support him, but they’re a very small minority — MGT types — and they’re on the outskirts of the party anyway.

thing is, trump still has a massive campaign war chest and a ton of dirt on basically everyone in the gop. So if/when he doesn’t get the nomination, he’s gonna go independent and take them all down with him. Plus, he’s gonna dominate the news cycle, which will piss off republicans wanting to move away from him. For these reasons, I am actually looking forward to the next two years. It’s gonna be a complete shitshow, and I’m here for it.

Don't count him out yet. Two years is a long time, and the current GOP golden boy has yet to get his uniform dirty. If you watch DeSantis, he is pretty charmless and easily rattled. As long as he can stay carefully stage-managed, he's popular, but a brawler like Trump will knock him off his game at first opportunity, and DeSantis doesn't have nearly the composure or quick-wittedness to handle it.

DeSantis is too much of a coward to run against him and the Cult is too damn stupid to realize there is no way swing voters will go for Trump after Jan. 6. The only question is whether or not Biden will be able to run in 2024. And if not, who is the Democrat nominee.

All the anger around him will be gone by Thanksgiving at the latest. The only way he doesn't win the nomination is if he's in jail, and I doubt Garland has the balls for that.

As a voter, I wish Trump would just go away. But, he's got access to free money people will just give him, and an opportunity to stay in the news more. He's a malignant narcissist, so of course he's doing that.

I legit laughed out loud that Ivanka's thing started with "I love my father very much." It's like the mantra of people watching their boomer parents doom humanity and blame it on avocado toast.

It's funny as hell, and oh....about 7 years too fuckin late.

You misunderstand, they're not sweating anymore. Because now it's The GOP standing in opposition, the heat is off them.

So to the surprise of absolutely no one, the Republicans have announced that they are going to launch an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden's business dealings.

This ought to be a fun, fruitful use of Congressional time and money.
