Considering we spent two years on the collusion bullshit, it shouldn't be much of a shock that the process of Congressional investigations and impeachment would be continually abused going forward.
The Mueller Investigation came out of the DOJ, not Congress. The scope of the Mueller Investigation was broader than just possible collusion The Mueller Investigation yielded multiple convictions and seizures related to illegal activity Collusion did occur Donald Trump was never impeached for collusion, but for entirely separate high crimes and misdemeanors. Twice. Also, Benghazi
True, Mueller was appointed by the Deputy AG. I won’t defend the retards in the Trump admin that perjured themselves or obstructed justice along the way, but Mueller specifically did not find evidence of collusion. Or more specifically, “conspiracy and cooperation,” with a lot of hair-splitting during the proceedings about what “collusion” actually means. I personally think it was a huge waste of taxpayer time and resources, but I know we won’t agree on that point so I’ll leave it at that. The second impeachment is a different story.
Mueller specifically investigated that too, IIRC. That aside, isn't Kevin McCarthy your congressman? You should be excited you are going to get represented in the highest congressional position rather than those tools from San Francisco.
If the left that shrieked for 6+ years about the emoluments clause had any decency they’d want to know how he may have used his father’s office to enrich himself and the family (still not sure why this supposed slam dunk wasn’t tacked onto an impeachment of Trump). I think it all started with republicans impeaching Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Sure it was letter of the law, and rightfully called, obstruction of justice, but It was a ticky tacky infraction. Set a poor precedent for a very power tool.
DOJ has appointed a Special Counsel in the Trump case. Not sure why this is necessary instead of DOJ just prosecuting him themselves. I have to admit, they went hard on the symbolism though; they brought in a guy whose last job was prosecuting war crimes.
Yeah, but they’re going to have to actually investigate it, and not simply hope that it exists like basically every claim they’ve made in the past half decade. It’s a waste of time and resources so they can act like a bunch of petulant twats. It’s pointless. Newt Gingrich fucked your government to a point where it cannot be unfucked.
Would be nice if the DOJ would look into FTX and feel like donating a huge sum money to political campaigns isn’t a Get-Out-of-Jail-Free card. At least the House Committee is pretending like they give a shit. Hopefully I’m jumping the gun and drawing conclusions prematurely rather than it getting memory-holed and forgotten.
He hasn’t tweeted anything new yet though. Wants to still push Truth Social? Or forgot his password? Both equally possible.
