Is Hawley one of them? That cunt needs to be crushed like a cigarette until his dying days.

This George Ashanti’s thing is hilarious. Conservatives in America seriously have no shame staying silent on this goofy fraud.

It’s also political malpractice in the part of the Dems for not even doing a cursory google search on the dude. Any dickhead could have figured out that he was at least lying about something.

Look, I don’t want to steal valour here… but I’m a U.S. green beret and I was the first one in the towers on 9/11. And now I’m running for office.

…I could pretty much say that, get elected in your country and by the time the know-nothing idiots realize it’s a con, I’m already in office with “Nope! Not resigning. You elected me, so go fuck yourselves.”

    Do you mean George Santos?

Because this is what a Google search turns up for George Ashanti: https://www.exampleessays.com/viewpaper/209688.html

    Jesus wept...

Anyway, one of the funniest things about the George Santos case is that he campaigned saying that he was "Jewish"...

What he meant by that was that he was "Jew-ish," ie: like a Jew, but not, and he was actually Catholic.

I spit out my drink when I heard that.

I don’t my know how that typo happened, sorry. Yes, Santos. The hits just keep on coming with this guy.

I mean come on… if he’s lying about being gay. He HAS to be frizzle-fried if that’s a hoax, after writing Cawthorne a clinic on how to fabricate one’s self. He’s already an eight-part Netflix special and we’ve only known him for days.

It's funny how FOX didn't need to give their new on air talent the usual face-lift (Greta Van Susteren etc) so instead they just gave her the Kari Lake filter. She's one of the last people I'd take a lecture from re: integrity but I'm glad she took no shit from this scumbag.

McCarthy loses the first vote for Speaker. He'll probably get it eventually, but this is an embarrassing look for House Republicans.

Four Republican votes for Jordan, plus Gaetz upcoming who nominated Jordan, means McCarthy won't have the votes in the second tally either.

So are they just going to keep voting over and over until the outliers give in and vote for McCarthy?

Pretty much. Apparently the last time this happened it took two months to resolve.

Welp, so much for that MAGA theory that after the "Red Wave," the Republicans would appoint Trump as speaker, the impeach Biden and Harris, then make Trump dictator for life.

McCarthy has lost for a third time, with one fewer vote than he had in the previous rounds.

At this point, how does this realistically end? Clearly the democrats are in lockstep to keep voting with Jeffries as their leader, but with more and more in-fighting amongst the Republicans... How do they ever actually come to a consensus either behind McCarthy, or a different candidate? I mean, couldn't McCarthy in theory just tell these holdouts he'll give them whatever they want and then just not? It's not like there would be enough votes to remove him and it would be considered political suicide within his own party, but he'd at least have the power for a couple of years.

If Democrats are smart they'll wait for McCarthy's stock to bottom out, and then buy low. Give him the necessary abstentions to get the Speakership, in exchange for locking the crazies out of committees, backing off the promises to remove certain Democrats from committees, etc. Or if they're really ambitious they offer the Speakership to a more amenable Republican and deliver all of their votes to get him or her over the top.

Apparently it's been 100 years since anything like this has happened. Republicans have turned themselves into a clown show.

That's some old fuckin' news, bro. I lost faith in the Republicans twenty years ago, and that was already twenty years too late.
