Clearly the ant-woke movement just wants people to be asleep and not paying attention to what is going on.

Eh. I don't think the democrats are really out to win things. That's the big issue. It's way easier to pander, not win, and then oopsies, it's the centrist swing vote that we lost. They don't want to be responsible for anything, much less wielding power. Something might be expected of them then.

I don't think it's "woke" to want transpeeps to have the rights to move through the country and operate as their identified gender as much as I don't think it's "transphobic" to be deeply suspicious of transwomen because they were/are in the body of a man. Men are, in general, kind of shitty. Men do weird fucking things in the pursuit of sex, power, and fetishism. I put "dressing up as a woman" pretty low on the list of weird for them. You look at things with a vanishingly low chance of happening, but severe consequences, and people start to act fucking zany.

Transmen tend to be treated, in isolated, as bros. They're cool, easy to be around, and tend to hide all of their insecurity and dysphoria from their everyday lives (not saying it's healthy, just easier to deal with them). I would say that life, in general, is harder for transwomen.

I sure wish CNN would shut the fuck up about the Dominion settlement. I get it, you want to crush competition. Perhaps do it by reporting news and not “what dead horse shall we bludgeon today?”

You think that a nearly billion dollar settlement, by a major news organization, because they repeatedly and knowingly lied about voting systems, which is 24 hours old, is being aired because they want to "crush competition"? And not because it's just news worthy?

This was a swing and a miss for democracy. This kind of settlement is nothing new to Fox News, even if the scale of it is a bit...grandiose.

Dominion had an opportunity to take them apart piece by piece, and they sold out. I'm more irritated at CNN blowing it up the way they did, knowing full well what it would result in.

Nothing changes without accountability, and it's not like the right wingers are going "oh, what a conspiracy". They are refusing to acknowledge it, in s

    Meh, that’s not their job.

They got fucked over and they had a chance to get paid now rather than fight appeals for years.

Who knows, they may take this payment and do something good with it, or they may retire with a fat paycheck.

Regardless, it’s their suit, their money, their call.

What we SHOULD be up in arms about is that the government isn’t stepping in to fix the problem, not some private company.

Fox also has their 2.7 billion dollar lawsuit with Smartmatic coming up.

It'll be interesting to see how that shakes out.

Sure it’s news worthy, and no I don’t think that’s the only reason they report it. I do suspect it’s theres a reason other than “newsworthy” they’ve talked about it seemingly non-stop since the settlement was announced.

    Well, Fox hasn't been reporting on it at all;
the pundits are just pushing the same talking points about trans people in women's sports, liberals/ the ATF trying to take away gun owner rights, and the huge wave of migrants at the Mexican border*.
But there is all kinds of stuff the news media doesn't report on because "reasons. "

    *This one is real.

Even if you're the most watched person on cable news, if you cost your employer $750M (complete with text messages that you knew the conspiracies you were promoting are bullshit), don't expect to keep your job.

Tucker out at FOX, Lemon out at CNN. House cleanings across the board.

I love that Lemon is “shocked” by his firing. I’m shocked he lasted this long.

Don Lemon is going to fade into whatever obscurity Chris Cuomo did, but I worry that Tucker is going to show up somewhere new and his opening monologue will be "now that I'm no longer being censored by the woke left over at Fox News, let me tell you what I really think about the Jews and what my final solution for the trannies is..."

Not once, in their entire careers, have I been compelled to tune in and watch them. Just watched a few YouTube clips when they've been caught saying something especially stupid.

Yet I still feel like their termination is going to positively effect my life and lift up society as a whole.
