If the Golden State killer ran it will still be an improvement for that state.

The question still stands: does the tree that crushed Abott belong in the Smithsonian for crippling him, or should it be burned for not finishing the job properly?

the really fucked up part is that once Abbott became governor, he enacted tort reform laws to place a ceiling on the damages he benefited from in that exact type of incident.

A family friend is/was a very successful attorney at the time. Went to school with his son, knew his whole family. Abbot's tort reform laws to keep people from getting the same recovery he got (basically "I'm taking my ball and going home") meant that the father's practice sunk. It was the beginning of the alcoholism which ultimately killed him.

I say this from the most sincere place in my heart: fuck Greg Abbott.

I've been saying "Fuck Greg Abbott " since the mid-aughts, but as usual, no one ever listens to me, and look where we are now.

"I'm wasn't scared! (sniffs and wipes away a tear) You just... Surprised me!"
    - kid in schoolyard who totally got scared, to the point of screaming, or possibly wetting themselves a little bit.

If there is a Hell, I really hope Pelosi goes there, though. I'll be there, too.

Last of all: Donald, proofreading. Do it. You graduated from college, didn't you?

This is the one he's most afraid of. With good reason. It's also the thing he doesn't have a straightforward scapegoat for.

The current spin is he will blame it all on the lawyers....which we already know doesn't fly, given the call with GA and his inability to shut the fuck up.

Also, the gag order that's coming will be a big deal. The feds across the board are viewing domestic terrorism as the #1 threat and Trump is a big part of that.

    https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2023/08/05/donald-trump-homeland-security-threat-00109928

Trump mentioning key parts of the trial and investigation by name will be a big problem, given the stance on domestic terrorism. If he can't shut the fuck up, it's goading the courts to do something, and this judge seems like she won't be bullied.

Id expect there to be a huge proceeding around the gag order itself for his campaign. My bet is the deal is the gag order is unusually detailed and it spells out what he can't mention in any context or platform.

This could mean Trump is a tweet away from contempt of court or violating a judges order, and if that is construed as endangering someone part of the proceeding, it's tantamount to witness tampering.

This shit gets nutty fast, and I hope we don't have to play Twitter chicken with the fate of fucking democracy at stake.

You guys might get a kick out of this:

One of our local politicians and another dipshit have been kicked off of their party's local committee. It seems that during the most recent election, they were out collecting signatures for a couple people to get on the ballot. One of the candidates was out doing it for himself and someone told him they'd already signed a petition ____ was carrying.

Cool, right? Except the petitions were never turned in. And when Dipshit A ( the politician ) who should have known better asked bigger Dipshit B what to do with the ballots, he was told to throw them away. AND THEY DID. When confronted and asked to come in before a sub-committee that was doing the investigation, neither responded. So they were thrown off the party committee.

The party? GOP. And at least one of the two is a huge Trumper always going on about peoples' rights and whatnot.

Me, I'm sitting back and enjoying the shit show, provided to me by someone on the committee. It couldn't happen to a bigger pair of assholes.

Lauro is the PERFECT lawyer for Trump. They deserve each other. He might as well conduct any TV interview with “Well yes, my client is guilty. But you seem to forget that he’s Donald Trump, and therefore he deserves a pass.”

Trump indicted in Georgia. 10 counts.

Don’t fight a war on two fronts. Don’t invade Russia in the winter. Don’t commit more than one crime at a time. And don’t face indictment in three places.

Four, he's also under indictment in New York. It's just the least sexy of the cases.

Georgia also said they are going to televise the indictment.

That should be a world class gong show.

And he's still the GOP front-runner, by a long shot.

I'm now seeing rumours that Trump's latest indictment may not be eligible for bail due to his witness tampering/intimidation.

    Spicy!
