If you had to vote for someone on that stage from last night, who would you vote for and who would you absolutely not vote for? I'd vote for Haley and swallow a bullet before I voted for Ramaswamy. I still say Biden isn't running and it'll be Newsome. No way he waiting until 2028
Christie and Haley would be terrible Presidents, but not "end of the Republic" Presidents. The rest (sans DeSantis who would be doing his own personal fascism) would just let Trump run the country via tweet and telephone call. Vivek is so dumb he might accidentally fire our nukes straight up.
Christie. Out of that group absolutely. He was governor of my state and while I disagreed with just about everything he did, he is the only one in that group that is not a blithering idiot.
Nikki Haley was a SC Representative, Governor, and US Ambassador to the United Nations. She may not be your choice, but she is definitely not a blithering idiot.
Yes. She was. Under Trump. Which....shouldn't matter, but let's not pretend it doesn't. Under a Bush administration, she might have been Deputy Secretary of Tide Pod Dining Etiquette. Aside from the standard GOP platform of "fuck books, and everything and all yall" and "not Trump", I don't really get what these people are running on. Like....if elected I will do....what?
Trump had nothing to do with her getting into politics, being a SC rep, and winning two terms as Governor of SC. He appointed her as the UN Ambassador during his first week as President, because she was a qualified candidate. She said the women who accused Trump of shitty behavior deserved to be heard, and she scolded him for not protecting VP Pence during the Capitol shenanigans. She supported Marco Rubio in the 2016 campaign and switched to Cruz when Rubio dropped out. She's hardly a Trump flunky.
Some people are just R = bad. There are a ton of substantial things to disagree with Haley on, but it's just easier to demonize her.
By that logic would you automatically say the same of Mattis, Kelly, or Tillerson? There were a lot of morons in the Trump administration...these people are not. These are individuals who when called to serve by the elected president will serve their country regardless of the president's party affiliation.
I cannot bring myself to watch the republican debates, because as much as I love long distance running, I am not willing to inflict "GOP debate" level of pain on myself. With that understanding, has Christie voiced any substantive positions other than "fuck trump and anyone not calling him out is a coward?" Because as it stands, he might get my vote on that basis alone. Unless he was also going on about some crazy shit like "cancel books" and "also women's healthcare"
He is one note. He literally hasn’t said any other words but “fuck Trump.” He’s the same robot he called Rubio out for last time but instead he’s pandering to the liberal media. My guess is he’s just angling for a job at MSNBC.
Tillerson was definitely not an idiot. I just had ethical reservations about the CEO of ExxonMobil running the State Dept.
