No I voted for No Preference on the Democrat one, but there are some local-ish candidates I like so it was worth going to the polls.

She's from western Mass, it might as well be Alabama.

Just because there are no IVF clinics outside of 495 doesn't make it Alabama.

No idea. Pretty sure that's the Tennessee Valley Authority's problem.

mob mentality. I'm a trump hater if there ever was one. I also do believe that the majority of the people there did not intend to get anywhere near the level of violence we saw. Watching, protesting, "being a part of history" if you want to call it that. Wrong side of history? Absolutely. But they still just wanted to be there. Then you have the segments of the mob like the oath keepers and such who WERE intent on violence, on causing an insurrection, and I do also genuinely believe that trump was one of those people. Once the violence started, everyone else went went them. Because if I do one bad thing it's a crime, but if everyone is doing that bad thing then it must be okay right?

Now, what trump supporters remain, are trying every sort of blame game short of admitting he lost, because they've tied their identity so close to his that it would mean that they are losers as well. And they can't emotionally handle that.

I agree with this statement. I think the reason for this is one of the major problems we have in our country. Our political discourse with each other is so toxic and borderline violent that it basically causes people to dig their heels in further because admitting you might be wrong about something is the gravest sin imaginable. People think that “winning” or “losing” a political argument with loved ones or friends is actually consequential somehow.

People are being convinced that their fellow person is their true enemy instead of the people who directly benefit from constant division. When I hear people speak from the fringe elements of both sides, they sound the same to me. Especially when it comes to various forms of antisemitism.

Do I think both sides are generally the same? No, I think the current iteration of the Republican Party is way worse because of the constant terrible legislation they keep trying to pass. Whether its the IVF stuff, or trying to keep pregnant women from being able to travel, banning books everywhere because of a fringe lefty teacher or something, massive corporate tax breaks, getting rid of child labor laws, etc. I’m tired of revenge politics designed to punish groups of people for being or looking a certain way.

this is why I just vote for the person who I feel has the highest moral character. They all suck. Right now, the GOP is far worse, but the dems are stupid as shit as well.

Nimarata Haley has dropped out of the Republican primary after getting absolutely butt-raped; I actually voted for her, just to fuck with Trump's numbers, but he still won Texas with 77%.

Darn, I was hoping she'd be around when Trump goes to jail and tag Katie Britt as her running mate to face off against Kamala Harris/Susan Crabtree in November for an all-woman ballot.

Haley was a forlorn hope, but a vote for her was more about repudiating Trump.

The Washington DC republican primary has to be one of the most pointless processes in our political system. Something like a 0.5% of registered voters show up to do something that will make absolutely no difference.

I don't know what the DC primary rules are, but if its only Republicans, that means: [23,000 registered Republicans] x [0.005] = 115 people showed up to vote. Lol.

No, I meant 0.5% of all registered voters, Republicans making up a very small percentage of that. The number for this year was 2,030. I think the democratic presidential primary typically sees about 100 times that participating. I imagine it looks weird, like a rural county election, in the US capital.
