To be fair the Republicans around DC that would have voted Republican are probably in prison for Jan. 6.
Anybody watch the SOTU Address? Apparently (depending on who you ask, of course), Biden really killed it. The GQP critics are mainly complaining that he seemed angry/ aggressive, and that he made too many jabs at his opponents. No mentions about gaffes. I watched the first 20 minutes or so, but I'll watch the rest later. Also, Alabama senatoress Katie Britt gave a disturbing rebuttal, I'm told. Once again, I haven't watched the whole thing.
You have to watch it, not read. It’s so actor-y and fake, just some dizzy bimbo giving a speech at her kitchen table. It’s funny, not scary because she’s objectively stupid.
It's all good that the sitting president confused the person he was trying to advocate for with the coach of Southern California. Both of these clowns are just a failure of America.
This is one of the best gaffes since Bobby Jindal. Remember that dork? The GOP built this guy up like he was the new Superman, and then out comes Kenneth from 30 Rock.
Biden did what he needed to do. Trump certainly isn't any more popular than he was in 2020, so this race will come down to how many of Biden's 2020 voters show up vs how many stay home. The biggest "motivator" for staying home, would be if they believed the narrative that Biden is too old/lost a step/not up for the job. So for the SOTU, the biggest national audience Biden will get in a while, he came out energetic and confident. That was the strategy, and he executed.
You say that like you've never seen the worst student at a North Hollywood acting class describe a gang rape before.
Don't forget that he's singlehandedly been chopping Palestinian heads to the point even Count Vlad is jealous.
The "narrative," also known as, "reality." Glad I went to see The Birth of Islam: Part 2 instead of seeing what Biden had to mumble about after his propofol nap. The Democrats have a perfect window to swap him out for any other person and they aren't doing it. Insane.
This. I hate when Biden slips up and some Trumpster makes the comment "THIS is the guy who got 81 million votes?" No, you dimwit. He's the guy who got 81 million "Not Trump" votes.
I think you underestimate how ridiculous people in this country have become. There isn't a well known enough Democrat who can beat Trump in an election this year. It's sadly the truth. I know people don't like Biden, but please name one legit Democrat who wouldn't get their clock cleaned by Trump? If you had an incumbent, with as strong of a record and who has actually done a very good job with the direction of the country, dropped out of the race and let someone else run in his place, Trump and the GOP would fucking EVISCERATE that person. It's Biden or no one until Trump gets beat again and the GOP falls apart. Next cycle, someone else can step in.
How about we start with someone that was born after the Korean War and go from there? If any of that was true, his approval rating would be over 40%.
I believe I started off by saying how ridiculous people in this country have become. By almost every major metric, the US economy is doing fantastic, yet most polls show less than 30% of people think the economy is doing well. There's zero logic to explain this other than, "I feel" statements. I could list off 20 accomplishments of this administration which have been significant, but it would fall on deaf ears with most responses being, "Hurr Durr, Dementia Joe."
I think what the economy is can vary depending on the person. Not everyone has a nice 401k or money tied up in the stock market. But people who might need a loan for a car or house are suffering high interest rates. Cars are stupidly expensive and keep going up. The major metrics look good as far employment and inflation numbers are concerned. Groceries haven’t come back down and gas prices are all over the place. While I don’t place those issues at the feet of the president, the person in charge always gets blamed when things go south. Overall, I think things can be way worse but as long as people are feeling pain at the grocery store or every time they fill up, they will perceive the economy as bad even when it’s good.
