Oh for sure. Just putting it out there since apparently Pelosi personally told Biden he's cooked to his face while she was in California and Obama told him to drop out. Both of these of course came from "inside sources" getting "behind closed doors" info.
If he is and he's not being replaced by Harris(who also has issues of electability) then they're fucked beyond any hope.
As someone who has family that's served in the armed forces, fuck donald trump. I'd say more, but it goes against the forum rules.
Is it even possible to get unbiased answers to questions? I wish there was generally a news agency that could answer stuff. Fox News had Trump on the phone while he was president, and he linked corruption to Ukraine to the DNC to Crowdstrike. And even their anchor was like "c'mon, is that true?" Like, how do you find out answers to real questions without it spinning into conspiracy? https://twitter.com/WallStreetApes/status/1814509764493385956?t=cf0-MYz_VYpJMc1Dl-GszQ&s=19
We'll see what he says in his speech, but he makes no endorsement in his announcement. I'm buying the idea that Harris will stand, and whether or not any other Democrats challenge her will be a barometer of her perceived strength within the party.
Yeah who knows. They have a very narrow window of time to find a good candidate or candidates ahead of the convention. If they treat it as a Kamala coronation it's not going to go well. The last time they pulled "It's Her Turn" it didn't work out...
The slate is pretty well known, it's just a question of which of them decide to jump in, and who the process (whatever that may be) picks. It's basically: Kamala Harris, Vice President, United States Gretchen Whitmer, Governor, Michigan Josh Shapiro, Governor, Pennsylvania JB Pritzker, Governor, Illinois Mark Kelly, Senator, Arizona Gavin Newsom, Governor, California Andy Beshear, Governor, Kentucky Marianne Williamson, Mother, Orb I think there are a few names like Wes Moore, Roy Cooper, Raphael Warnock, and a handful of others that could be used to balance the ticket depending on who is running for President, but won't really be considered for the top of the ticket. Whitmer/Beshear and Whitmer/Kelly are probably the best tickets in a total vacuum, but you'd have to bypass Harris to get there, which could have negative ramifications with black voters.
Per Biden's X account a few minutes ago: My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
I don't think you'll get Whitmer over Kamala and I don't think a joint ticket would be particularly good. Whitmer would immediately outshine her and she has some odd political baggage from her state. Out of all the names you listed, Warnock probably has the most middle-ground appeal as he's a fairly moderate Democrat, but not well known nationally. But I think he would be a strong candidate. I also think Gavin Newsom would lose to Trump, and if they run any overly progressive candidate they'll lose.
I’m of the opinion that the insider polling and research shows that either one loses, but Harris saves the Legislative branch
