Ninth Circuit upholds the TRO: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive...Circuit-s-Decision-on-Trump-s-Travel-Ban.html Interesting that they found the Government unlikely to win on the merits, and unlikely to sustain irreparable injury, when only one would be enough for their decision.
Here's the statute Trump used to justify his travel ban: How is he acting above the law? At the least he has a case to make his proclamation, right? I don't agree with the way he rolled it out, but the way the media is reporting on this is absurd. I'm at a total loss as to how these people bitch about the populace not trusting them.
North Korea just test fired their first missile of the Trump administration. What are the odds le orange tries scratches his carpet bombing itch?
So after "alternative facts" and "bowling green massacre" it looks like Kellyanne Conway is on the outs with the administration; they deployed Stephen Miller to the Sunday morning shows this weekend instead of her. I'm not sure it's an improvement, because after watching him talk I'm convinced there is zero chance he doesn't torture and murder women for sexual gratification.
In three weeks the Crypt Keeper-looking bitch has fucked up more than you can count on your hands. She ran out on her own GOP meeting when they started asking her questions. Even for Trump this woman is a fucking idiot. Hopefully DeVos is gone next.
DeVos isn't going anywhere. She got her post by giving insane millions to the GOP over the years, and a good chunk of the GOP wants the Department of Education destroyed anyway. She can literally do anything she wants with no repercussions from the GOP. Conway on the other hand only had one job: make the administration look good on TV.
Then I guess you guys should simply pray she drops dead, because you could not find a more unqualified or just plain wrong person for that position if you tried. Then again, Rick Perry is secretary of energy and he forgot that department existed on live TV.
International Crisis, only at Mar-a-Lago folks! $20 cover, 2 item minimum. Come for the food, stay for the National Security theater!
Lemme just pop on my tinfoil hat for a second: is there some special significance to such a lackadaisical response to an existential threat to Japan, while the Japanese PM is there to see it?
Michael Flynn has resigned. Spoiler So that's the first domino to fall. God willing others will follow.
Not including Manafort. Losing people before the full cabinet is even installed. Less than 7 hours from when Conway said he had the full confidence of the president to resignation.
Unprecedented! How will the country survive. I mean, I guess it did after Daschle and Richardson withdrew in 2009, but still.
There's a slight gap between a cabinet nominee withdrawing from consideration due to a difficult path to confirmation and a sitting National Security Advisor resigning in disgrace three weeks into an administration. Let's also take a moment to appreciate the utter depths required to be too disgraceful for the Trump administration.
For all of the "omg the media is the worst" I think we need to take a moment of appreciation for them doing their jobs so well with all of this reporting. Also, does the ruble stop with Flynn here? These Russian connections sure seem to be getting worse rather than better for Trump.
It probably ends with him. An FBI investigation was how it was uncovered, and this was Obama's FBI. He's resigning because he went behind Trump's back and I doubt he would quit if Trump or Pence knew since no law was actually broken, it was just deceitful. It's a scandal even though CNN is making it out to be Watergate. The media (both sides) does their job when it's in their interest and aligned with their interests to do so. I'm not giving them credit for opportunism.
I think Trump's cabinet will be a revolving door of "yes men" and sycophants. The tag line for his reality tv show (FFS) was "You're fired!", so it's not exactly unprecedented that he will cycle through people. This Russia shit still has a long way to go, especially as more details emerge about his business obligations.
I can buy that Pence didn't know, but what are the odds the inner circle of Trump/Bannon/etc wasn't aware? It seems really unlikely that Flynn took it wholly upon himself to discuss the aims and intentions of the administration with a foreign government.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ident-about-russia-contacts-white-house-says/ The next piece of the trickle-truthing. Trump was aware that Flynn lied for at least the last several weeks. At this point I think it's fair to say Trump had no intention of getting rid of Flynn until the leak forced his hand.
Uh see now it's a framing issue in that story. They quote Spicer as saying they've been discussing it for weeks but try to insinuate Trump's non answer to being asked about an article on the subject means he was trying to pull.... something I guess? They just need something to be wrong. The main stream media seems to want it to be the Watergate smoking gun. Just hoping the transcript has him talking pay for play with the sanctions if Moscow keeps leaking hacked emails. I'd want to see the transcript before I could tell what he did was bad, illegal, or indifferent. To see if the media is justified in the histrionics or just more of the same sky is falling that is the new norm.
