When the neurosurgeon did my biopsy, I was amazed he didn't come back and say, "welp, I came up empty. You'll be fine!"

How are all three "major" candidates so terrible? Are we all terrible and apathetic? Is that why we can't get fine people as Commander in Chief? Jimmy Carter was one of the finest people to hold that office, and he did so bad that he couldn't get re-elected.

Can we call Kamala terrible? Is this a safe space? She's supposed to save democracy, for fuck sake.

When the parties swap around their platforms and coalitions, it gets chaotic and then it settles down. Last gasp of the Boomer candidates.

It's because center moderates aren't electable in their primaries. Brcause of that, the lunatic fringe tend to win out.

Maybe we should switch it up and have system where registered democrats vote the republican primary and registered republicans vote the democrat primary

that's where I'm at, though I'm also starting to eye Florida as more of a toss up and I don't think Texas is completely out of the picture. At a minimum, Trump is going to have to defend in Florida and a bit in Texas.

    The asshole of Texas

He's doing it out of spite, no doubt. Remember, he was originally running as a Democrat.

I have said many times that I think she's a dumb bimbo, and I stick by that until I'm proven wrong.

I'm still voting for her, though, because I can't bear another four years of Trump's bullshit.

That, and Project 2025, whatever incompetent/ corrupt pieces of shit he appoints, etc.

I just wanted John McCain to be president, man.

This is where I get to. I think it mostly comes down to whether Kamala can carry GA like Biden did, or if she loses that.

This is what I'm thinking. I'm starting to think GA's ground game is too strong for the GOP, and Desantis will continue to do Desantis shit and push it closer to a tossup

I do not think the east coast will be quite so blue. Not since Reagan has any candidate united the eastern seaboard like that.

I get it, it's just a funny looking map when compared to the ones over the more than 3 decades since Reagan. Even if Florida falls to Trump, it would still look out of place with how we've seen the eastern seaboard vote since childhood.

there's three factors that I think are gonna come into play in a big way here:

    1) a decade of trump. People would get worn out and tired of a candidate under normal circumstances. Apathy would be understandable. But this is trump. He's been selling negativity since he came down the escalator. Eventually that negativity is gonna come home to roost.

    2) Kamala is still the "new" candidate. She's been largely under the radar as a VP, and people are saying that's a weakness, but what it also means is that a lot of people are still finding out about her. She's pushing positivity, which is what people want. She's the new fun shiny toy, and she happens to have a relatively short time until election. It's gonna be time to vote while people are still in that honeymoon phase.

    3) I'm hearing so little about her potentially being the first woman president. With Clinton it was THE thing. People voted for Obama simply because they wanted to see the first black President. Given the women's rights/health issues, I'm shocked this hasn't already been a big thing. But it will be.

I don’t actually agree with this statement. Sure, there might be a certain segment of voters who voted for him specifically because of his skin color. But overall, I remember there being a general sense of exhaustion and anger with the W presidency. It’s been a long time but I remember a general sense of extreme dislike towards him for lot of reasons. Especially getting us back in Iraq under false pretenses and Afghanistan as well. W also wasn’t a traitor to his country.

I remember seeing Obama speak at the 2004 DNC and saying that I think he will be the next president. No one since him has been as charismatic of a speaker.

They know enough about her. She's a functionally retarded candidate that comes off as aloof and insincere, which is why they don't want her doing interviews and press conferences. She's basically just a useful idiot that the Democrats can use to get an agenda passed. It's easier to just let Trump step on his own dick then get in his way (Sun Tzu shit). Left to his own devices without an external target, he unravels.

Sucks either way for the voters.
