Anyone watch/ listen to the vice-presidential debate? I'd say it was a draw; Vance lied and dodged questions, Walz promised things that are never going to happen. No one got any good zingers/ one liners. Vance's mic did have to be muted at one point. It's going to be a long time until we get a line like "THEY'RE EATING THE CATS, THEY'RE EATING THE DOGS!" again.
Neither one fucked up enough to dominate the news cycle for the next week, therefore the debate won't shift the polls one bit, and thus it did not matter.
I’m not commenting at all on the truthfulness of things Vance said, but I did like that he pushed back against the moderator when she tried to get a quick fact check in before immediately switching topics - and I liked that Walz also jumped in. what I didn’t like is the way the moderators kept smirking and saying “we have a lot to cover gentlemen” like they were actively trying to get SNL to make them into a cold open skit. But that just might be because I’m a sexist pig who hates women. Overall, @Aetius is right. Not enough fireworks for the current media, doesn’t affect much. The only reason we care about the 2020 VP debate is because of a fucking fly.
