It's not like we don't have other meaningless things to argue about besides where transgenders take their dumps. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article134440999.html
Poll: Number one issue for Americans? The economy. Politics: Where do ladyboys poop? DEMOCRACY IS AT STAKE BITCHES! Americans: hey, yeah about that other thing that our jobs, livelihoods and literally entire lives revolve around... Politicians: THEY WILL SHIT WHERE WE TELL THEM TO SHIT!
As far as this goes, why can't all bathrooms just be fitted for unisex (unigender?) use and have changing tables to WHOEVER goes in there is good to go?
That darned ol' patriarchy. At it again with their signs and opinions. File this with the other umpteen million outrages under "Things That Don't Matter Whatsoever."
It sure would help if the vast majority of the American public were not economically illiterate. To this day, at least to my knowledge, there is still no mandatory minimum level of financial education in public schools. Kids graduating high school today don't even have a basic understanding of money (balancing a check book, financing loans, budgeting, etc.), let alone understand how the American economy and trade works. For godsakes, we have elected officials that make policy decisions that impact everyone that don't understand how private enterprise works. I don't mean to pick on Bernie or healthcare directly, I agree we need to revisit how our entire healthcare system works but this is just one recent example of a shocking lack of understanding of our economy. So, it is no small wonder that our politicians and people sit around arguing bathroom decisions for trannys. It's because we are too fucking stupid to understand or too lazy to pay attention to complex issues.
Yeah but knowing how to work a spreadsheet gives you understanding of what the bank statement is telling you. The whole debits and credits thing.
The kids now will never write checks so no outstanding checks, deposits will all be direct through paypal so no deposits in transit. Pretty soon you will pay everything online and and point of sale using your ATM card. Hence all transactions will hit your checking account instantly. The Government and industry will know instantly everything about you. Currency will be outlawed and they will try and crush any underground economy.
I agree with you everything you said. I feel like the main people I know who don't use CCs are those who either don't understand why credit is a good thing or whose parents taught them something along the lines of don't ever spend cash you don't directly have. Or they don't trust themselves with CCs like one of my best friends which is also crazy. But your above point is HUGE. I have the majority of my CCs through Chase and Ive gotten text notifications of fraudulent charges on a CC before I even realize it was lost or stolen. Then the charges are reversed and I have a card rush delivered to me by midweek. Honestly, losing a CC doesn't even cause me a minute of distress. On the other hand, I had my debit card skimmed shortly before Christmas. Fortunately, I had just paid rent so i only had a few hundred in checking at that moment to get yanked out and again I got a text notification from Chase immediately. BUT, it took a phone call to freeze the card, then I had to go into a branch to file the claim, then another phone call to get a replacement card sent. It was nearly a week before I had a credit in my account as they launched an inquiry. Huge headache and pretty much sealed me not bringing my debit card out unless I know i need to withdraw cash.
Trump aide: Federal marijuana laws will be enforced, despite state legalization votes This is pretty fucked up depending on how he moves forward with it. I don't smoke weed, but I've always seen it as a mostly harmless drug. It's been a contentious issue ever since Washington and Colorado legalized marijuana in 2012 because recreational use is in violation of federal laws that override state laws. Edit: I didn't watch the press conference, but apparently the administration's intentions aren't all that clear. http://www.weednews.co/urge-donald-trump-to-respect-state-marijuana-legalization-laws/
That's a pretty good point. Obama played activist around many federal laws he didn't like. What did he expect was going to happen when a new administration wants to have a buy-the-book approach? That's not saying I agree pot should be illegal, but the policy seems short sighted in retrospect.
If anyone is Trumps circle could stand to make money off of private prisons, the war on drugs will only get intensified. If his tweeting history has shown anything, he only gives a shit when crimes are committed by various brown people. Within his first month, he has shown that where tranny's take a shit is a top priority. You can't yell "STATES RIGHTS" when it's a social policy you don't like but then threaten to ramp up the federal response on weed.
You mean just like Obama? States pass drug laws that go against federal law, Obama response: "Meh" Cities declare themselves sanctuary cities and defy federal immigration law, Obama response: "Meh" Schools say they'll defy the tranny bathroom law, Obama response "You'll do it or lose your federal funds!"
Notice how his reactions to all those things was to give individuals more rights/privileges/protections? Whereas Trumps stance on each of those is to either make more money or discriminate against people he finds icky?
Sadly the fundementalist old gaurd is still in place on the right and has had a chance to rear it's ugly head since Trump embraced them. You'll still see banning pornography creep into their mission statement. It's this faction that turns off so many people to conservatism. This is one issue Im really progressive on and I don't even use pot.I was sad to see Obama's adminstration kick the can down the road as far as rescheduling.
So you have no problem with the president selectively enforcing laws, especially laws that will pander to specific voting blocks? Why bother having any laws then?
