https://www.the-express.com/news/politics/153411/trump-meltdown-mic-chanting-rally All it takes is some sound guys fucking with his levels? Things they could’ve tried eight years ago.
Melt down though? Seems to be having fun riffing, crowd work, he’s just an entertainer. If it weren’t for his dark 4chan troll side he’d have been a real shot in the arm for American politics. A good portion of Obama’s huge success in 08 was charisma in front of a crowd. It’s what we like. No one gives a shit if Marco Rubio can memorize boring speeches. Republicans, whether he wins or loses, don’t have anyone on deck that has the personality to reach the same number of minority demographics he does. He’s actually reaching the people the 2012 post mortem report suggested. Problem is it is all based on his one man show personality. Apparently there are a lot of Latinos up for grabs. They really going to be as energized for a Marco Rubio?
Eh, every headline is sensationalized, I didn’t write it. Nobody’s commenting or criticizing things anymore, they’re engaging in a SAVAGE TAKEDOWN of whatever. I’m desensitized to it. My point is, dude got annoyed about mic levels, and it’s just a simple thing any outsourced audio company could do. So actually, I guess it reinforces that most of the audio production world really cares about money, since it hasn’t really happened to trump before now.
I'm sorry, what? You mean, if it weren't for his entire fucking atrocious personality, sub-average intelligence, history of sexual abuse, racism, sexism, his requirement to be surrounded entirely by yes-men, total lack of understanding or interest in understanding complex issues on any level, and complete failure as a businessman? Is that what you're rolling up in his "dark 4chan troll side"? Except for every single thing about him, he would have been a real "shot in the arm"? A troll is someone who knows they are trolling. Trump isn't a troll.
Is it, tho? Because going by the dumbest metric which is rally attendance, it's not close at all. Harris's crowds are significantly larger, there is much enthusiasm. It's only people on the Internet who keep calling it a close race, people taking polls seriously or worse "Polymarket" which is Peter Thiel 's betting site. You think he'd have some incentive to keep his boy Vance looking competitive?
I'd say it is. Every swing state is polling inside the margin of error right now. Even with a massive polling error, we still wouldn't get to the landslide this should be.
Rally attendance isn't a good metric. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/2024/national/
The only thing I retained from my worthless political science degree is that the only polling that is actually reflective of how people vote is the exit polling on Tuesday.
Yeah that’s exactly what I mean. 4chan troll in real life. You know besides that. I don’t expect people that hate him with every fiber of their being to ever look at the situation objectively but there are some core tenets of conservatism that he’s broken a lot of the base of that one, were driving the GOP to irrelevancy, and two, highlighting how the left lost touch with their blue collar union base. Heard a populist republican on John Stewart’s podcast and JD Vance out there trying to push something other than trickle down economic principals beyond Trump’s years. I can’t believe the left has thrown in with the biggest warmonger, a literal Sith Lord, because him and his daughter oppose Trump. Also supporting the military industrial complex as a benefit to the economy. The isolationist libertarian wing of conservatives was always a small relatively useless faction. I think a lot on the right feel the neocon warhawks had their shot and fucked a lot up with a huge net negative for the country. I don’t think a good portion of those voters are going back. Very interesting times.
But this is all nonsense. Biden is probably the most pro-union President we've had in decades. His FTC is enforcing antitrust legislation seemingly for the first time in forever, which Republicans are apoplectic about. Meanwhile Trump is famous for stiffing workers, and his campaign is being financed (and to a large degree run) by a billionaire who literally fled California rather than adhere to labor laws. They are, at this moment, trying to have the Consumer Financial Protection Agency and the National Labor Relations Board ruled unconstitutional. Also the left has not "thrown in" with Cheney; Cheney has come groveling to them. He has gotten no policy concessions, no appointments, nothing. It is a complete surrender on his part, because even he knows that the Democrats are the only party that will act in the interest of the United States. As for the military industrial complex, every single budget Trump proposed included huge increases in defense spending.
The list of former Presidents and Vice Presidents who have endorsed Harris: Biden Obama Clinton Carter Marshall Cheney Gore
He wouldn't, which is why I find the argument that the Democrats have somehow sold their souls to get his endorsement ridiculous.
It's only one poll, but a hint that undecideds may be breaking late for Harris: she is now up 3 points in Iowa, after being down 4 points in the same poll in September.
Spoiler That's it. I'm gonna moratorium myself in this thread until the election. I need to go think about other shit.
