But dude... a bunch of idiots wearing garbage bags say he's the man for the job. I don't see the issue.
they're trying so hard to re-create that "deplorables" energy, and don't realize they're making the joke worse. Him driving the garbage truck was just perfect
I understand the cult members are going to ignore everything, hell some probably like it. But what the hell is up with people who aren't Trumpers that downplay how bad things could get if this POS gets back in the Whitehouse? There are groups that will accuse you of "liberal hysteria" when you dare to point out this could end our democracy. I don't get it.
I’ve held back from repeatedly replying to the obvious. Look at my username. It’s not a joke, it’s an honest and pragmatic opinion of how mind boggingly stupid most people actually are. 90% of people are assholes and another 5% are working their way there. That friendly neighbor or guy at the diner you say hi to? He’ll fuck you over and not even give it a second thought if he thinks it will benefit, or at least not hurt, him. People suck. Always have, always will.
Missing my point. I’m not saying Trump is better than the democrats on those subjects I’m saying he’s simply injected them into the Republican Party which for decades were non starter issues. When Vance said in the debate we listened to the experts for 40 years and offshoring manufacturing simply to get cheaper goods was wrong he is directly criticizing Milton Friedman. He may as well said Jesus didn’t die for your sins to a Christian that’s how dogmatic republicans were about it. It remains to be seen if it takes root long term and if it doesn’t end up just being empty rhetoric once representatives are in Washington getting influenced by the same lobbying class they have been. I do think the foreign policy aspect of military intervention has more staying power in the base. Bush fucked up long term getting us into protracted wars with ultimately no benefit and huge dollar cost. I know a lot of republicans that feel burned on the Warhawk mentality. I only bring up Cheney in jest as it hits me as deliciously hypocritical that they’d embrace an endorsement from him in the first place (not that they actively courted him or anything). If Trump is a wanna be fascist dictator Dick Cheney literally got us into a war for oil and profiteering. A war of conquest being the hallmark of fascist states. Not a ringing endorsement of good statesmanship you’d want an endorsement from.
I agree about the Cheney endorsements being hypocritical. Cynically, I think the math works better for the Dems to try to peel off reasonable republicans than attempting to court the far left demo. Older moderates actually vote. The far left can’t stop accusing her of committing a genocide. They are willing to die on the stupidest hills for absolutely nothing except for feeling morally superior to everyone else. The far left really don’t want power because then they can’t bitch when things fail. They want to complain and be contrarian more than they want to actually win. If they have to actually do something when they win, they would be miserable. Instead, they can just be miserable without having any responsibility.
I definitely know some folks who likely won’t vote for Harris because of Palestine and it drives me insane. Not only do I honestly believe a trump presidency would be worse for Palestine, but also fuck your moral purity/superiority. We have kids at the clinic where I work that already have to drive hours from surrounding states to get gender affirming care. A national abortion ban would cause so many deaths. And what’s going to happen in Ukraine? There are clear, likely consequences. There is no vote that will magically save Palestine but there is a vote to avoid a lot of other harm.
I like how the Trump campaign spent the last few days going after the media for taking Trump's words on Cheney out of context and how dare they try to portray him as someone that wishes violence on people, and then he just goes right back on stage and says: https://x.com/AccountableGOP/status/1853117997910561172
Yeah, well, a TV station in Moosic, PA accidentally showed a test graphic of election results so that means the deep state is rigging things and so we have to keep the men out of the women’s locker rooms.
holy crap. Let them roast your boss, your vp, your husband, then you to your face. Maya Rudolph's acting is amazing as well. Clinton saxophone moment there.
I think this might be the worst political commercial I've ever seen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIhv9j-HW1o
I knew it was Tim Kaine... until they gave the three choices, doubt crept in and I said to myself, must be Tim Scott then.
You've just described the entirety of the republican party. Look no further than the past 2 years of congress.
I mean, I agree with you on that. I was specifically talking about the chronically online leftists. You know the ones with watermelons and Palestinian flags in their bios. Overall though, I do think that some politicians enjoy being on the losing side. They keep their jobs and sexy congressional benefits. And not governing. The far right holds the rest of the GOP hostage and makes a lot of stupid noise. The left tends to vote their assholes out. Not all of them, but the squad is considerably diminished.
