So he’s not looking like his dad anymore? Because he seemed to be as hopeless as a case gets. And not in the way that makes you cheer for them, he was a complete cretin during the entire ordeal.
Admit it though, you’d watch Viva la Prez. The leader of the free world running into the bathroom and slapping the shit out of his Secretary of State? Gold.
This isn’t 2004. What will happen is him running into the bathroom to have a four-hour-long crying fit and making 150 pathetically whiney posts on how angry he is that his wife got upset about him hitting her. Everyone that was around him who once sucked now doesn’t, and he still does. He surrounds himself with 35-year-old sycophants who were once his fans and now just enable him in person.
Well I voted. Yay. The lady offered me one of those stickers and I said, "No thanks, I'd rather forget the experience."
Total opposite for me. Which sticker to choose is the hardest question I'll face at the polling place.
Ah, yes, the Adult Participation Trophy. I turned mine down as well, and the woman handing them out didn't want to take "no" for an answer.
I voted on day 2 of early voting and they were already out at the polling place I went to. Small tragedy for me.
There's a running theory that Trump will declare victory early and have SCOTUS certify and stop all counts a la Bush vs Gore. Thoughts?
Whoever came up with that theory probably failed civics. The Supreme Court can't just randomly decide to stop and certify the election. Certification is done by the Senate. SCOTUS gets involved if there is a dispute over a specific law (reinterpretation, districting issues, federal laws, etc.), localized contestation of results (what happened in 2000), voting rights violations, or local procedures. It would need to proceed through lower courts and be accepted by SCOTUS to be reviewed.
I was listening to NPR radio in my car earlier (shut up, they have some really informative segments here and there). They were talking about why children that were born in the US of undocumented parents were voting for Trump. Apparently some recent undocumented immigrants from some areas like Venezuela have been given refugee status by the current administration. This gives them access to things like being able to get a driver's license if they can pass the test. Their undocumented parents can't do this even though they may have been here 20-30 years or more and this upsets them. So, they vote for Trump. When you point out that he says he will deport their parents they don't think he will actually go through with it. When/if the leopards ET their face they will have voted for it. This is just one example of people who ignore what Trump says he will do and voters swear it won't happen.
A lot of it isn't just thinking that he doesn't really mean that, but also fear and terror of "Socialism". A lot of latin countries, but ESPECIALLY Venezuela have a really unpleasant history with socialism(or at very least populist leaders claiming to be about that shit) and it makes them INCREDIBLY WARY of any group housing them in their ranks hence inroads with them from repubs. The rest is religion and "protecting the family structure" or whatever the BS is called.
Apparently a bomb threat was called into some polling places in Georgia fucking times up. Judge has extended voting hours.
I'm not saying we need to fly a sortie of F-35s against the Russian front lines, but at minimum the CIA should be stacking bodies in the greater Moscow area. This kind of assault on the United States can't go unpunished.
