Jesus fuck, I'm 10-ish minutes into his speech and take policy 100% outta it and who the fuck wants 4 years of this?
Woke up at 330 to see someone on MSNBC basically trauma-dumping and I knew it was over. I figured he would win, but not +300 electoral votes and the popular vote. Holy shit.
Well this is certainly an outcome to wake up to. I guess Dems missed the memo on "high turnout is the new normal, you don't get to sit out anymore". Or maybe it was the Free Palestine chucklefucks voting their conscience. I hope Trump sends each and every one to Gaza to lend their support in person.
If by some freakish miracle Kamala managed to win every one of the remaining states and get across 270, leaving Trump just 4 votes shy... You thought Jan 6 was bad.
Maybe Nate Silver was right and a large chunk of pollsters were juking their numbers, how else could they have been so wrong? The fact that he made the gains he did with minorities is wild.
It’s also possible people were lying to the pollsters. In general across the globe, there has been a rightward shift in politics so I guess we aren’t special in that way. But the numbers coming back don’t really indicate any one single political misstep. Only winning New Jersey by 5 and a rightward shift in Manhattan by 10 is something else entirely.
I was just in New York City visiting some family. Two things stood out: the absolute fucking stench of weed smoke everywhere I walked, and the horror stories from my relatives about the Venezuelans taking over Times Sq and making a crime-ridden landfill of the city in general. It goes without saying that they find this unacceptable, and they all said they'd be voting Trump in hopes he'll fix it. They didn't give a flying fuck about the "island of garbage", only the conditions they're actually living in. The real 4D chess move was flooding the city with migrants it wasn't prepared to handle, who now get free housing and food and even some spending money. The resentment is very real.
I can think of a political misstep: https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Politics...democratic-roll-call-votes/story?id=112580918
As bad as it is that Trump is President, Vance is VP. I think I need to make more popcorn. You fucking idiots. lol
Trump will literally have the Senate, Congress, and 6/3 (potentially 7/2) of the Supreme Court at his disposal. Enjoy that Project 2025! You guys are fucked.
