I made this point before the election, but if Trump abandons Ukraine, and makes it clear that giving up nuclear weapons in exchange for security guarantees from the United States isn't worth the paper they're printed on, we'll see a number of countries that had, previously, been satisfied with the status quo suddenly find themselves thinking that their security depends on their ability to develop their own nuclear weapons.
Stopped being a fanboy after the aformentioned Thai Cave thing when he accused the diver of being a pedo. The stuff coming out after just added fuel to the fire.
As soon as he started spewing shit about something I know about (twitter) I knew he was full of shit. I didn’t know fuck all about space x, starlink, or telus so didn’t have an opinion.
My favorite ones are the ones you don't need any expertise at all to see are dumb as fuck. "Can I interest your city in a mode of transportation that has all of the downsides of cars and all of the downsides of trains, with the upside of neither?"
I don't agree with some of Ryan McBeth's points and assumptions he bases his assessment on, however he's one of the more thoughtful folks I see posting and he's quick to state whenever something is outside his experience or expertise. He gave an interesting take on what he thinks this next Trump presidency means for US support for Ukraine. I'll give my thoughts on what he states if anyone asks. Overall, I think his postings to YouTube, etc are worth listening to.
Bill Burr’s SNL monologue sounded like it was pieced together quick. And most of the SNL subreddit comments - Reddit in general anctually - missed the sarcasm.
After the crushing turnout for abortion last year in Ohio I had figured it would be the deciding factor in the election. I voted for abortion and weed and have been telling the super hardcore Christians that it must not have been their most important issue if they couldn’t get off their asses and vote against it here. I know it was polling as high across the board than a few other issues but I figured some of the key women demographics in swing state suburbs would really make a difference. I also don’t see it in any post mortem analysis either. Also, do the democrats ratchet up the calls for Sotomayor to retire? We’ve been down this road before. Could have gotten RGB out before Dobbs, could have gotten Biden out before the summer. Under current everyone saw coming. Though chancing it now and having it delayed until after the inauguration would be a disaster.
We really saw the ignorance of the electorate on display on this one. A lot of people voted for a pro-abortion amendment, but then in favor of Trump, thinking they could have their cake and eat it too. Elect Trump, but still protect abortion in their state. When asked about the Supremacy Clause, they responded "I know he says some racist things, but I don't think Trump is a white supremacist." Not a chance. They would need both Sinema and Manchin willing to push through a lame duck nomination, and neither of those snakes are anything close to reliable. If the plan fails, then they've just handed another court seat to the Republicans for several decades. Sotomayor has diabetes, she's not a stage-4 cancer patient. She can hang on another four years, even if she has to do it with one foot.
Where did the idea of her stepping down even originate from? Hopefully it's not because some pundit on CNN floated it on some panel-shit program. RBG was 87 when she kicked. Why are they suddenly demanding Sotomayor retire? The only dumber thing I've heard in the last few days is a call for Biden to step down so he could install Kamala as the first female president. That one definitely originated on CNN.
To be fair, I thought that's what they were going to do about a year into his presidency. Go back to my posts in late 2020. Biden should NOT step down, if for no other reason than to give a big middle finger to Kamala. I stand by everything I've said about her over the years. It's going to be funny seeing her certify Trump's reelection.
Pack the court with Telemundo weather girls. Throw caution to the wind. Trump should open his presidency with “Ladies of America: I have objectively proven on multiple times that this is a job that a woman simply cannot do.” ….and then pull his cock out.
He’s ready to go in again! https://www.cityandstateny.com/poli...ulls-city-council-run-lower-manhattan/400964/
I saw a reply to this that said a lot of these memes feel like they've been sitting in the drafts since 2020. Hamilton and Lena Dunham are very last-decade.
Not really, I mean the reverberations from that fucking rap song she made about Hillary will live on through the ages in the same fashion as the Black Plague did. She hasn’t done much herself since then, though. She’s been living the quiet life, grazing peacefully in northern Alberta with the rest of the bison herd.
