Sounds like it's just about every federal employee that was offered a buyout.

And it also sounds like FEMA funding might end tomorrow.

    Crazy shit.

Someone posted this which indicates there's a $25k max for any buyout. One way or another, any employee who takes this buyout is going to get fucked out of their money.

I think a federal judge enjoined the spending freeze until Feb 3. There will be further hearings before then to consider a longer-lasting injunction.

Doesn’t that make you just thirst for their amazing healthcare, which is— and I quote— “better than ours”?

Not a plan. There's no budget allocation for this supposed buyout. Also, the federal workforce accounts for about 4.3% of the total federal budget. So these "savings" are horseshit.

Everyone we lose right now gets replaced by a fucking Nazi.

I told my team: I can't stop you from leaving, you're all smart people who have plenty of options. I want you to make any of those decisions with the best information I can provide, and with whatever support I can provide. So, talk to me or someone in the chain before you make any life altering decisions based on these EO's.

The media coverage is definitely part of the problem, because the democratic response isn't carried or heard, and neither are the lawsuits that are being filed to ensure the implementation of these orders is lawful.

My ask to any of you: talk to your people. Talk especially loudly to your elected reps. Tell them you refuse to accept this, and their tolerance and acceptance will cost them their jobs and legacies. Tell them that the billionaires who accepted a God damned Nazi salute in front of MY American flag are the villains here, and anything else is a goddamned lie. Tell them that public servants are not to be treated like this, nor is their service to their country and our people a choice we take lightly. Tell them to act now, or be implicit in a Nazi regime, and be forever tainted by their cowardice. Tell them which side history will remember, and that when it comes to fighting facism, we are undefeated.

I keep going back to the billionaires at the inauguration. To put stock and faith in someone like Trump means they must truly be desperate and terrified. Imagine thinking that Trump is the only solution you have to not being a victim of a Luigi copycat or federal justice for theft, exploitation, treason and lies responsible for thousands of deaths over the years.

This is desperation masquerading as bullying.

And when the mask falls, the people who were the most devout supporters need to be told what it will take to rejoin society. I told you so serves nothing, but "you fucked up, so fix it" is the kind of restorative conversation we need.

Billionaires are the enemy folks, not the millions of people who chose to serve the greater good. Make that known. Make that heard. Make that felt.

And watch the desperate and powerful wither away into the justice they deserve to face.

Also, do not forget that anyone with that kind of money and power is a sociopath the moment they decide to interfere with another person's life. These people are monstrous and evil, and deserve scorn. Put another way: if you had a fraction of that kind of money and power, would you ever dare to dream of "helping" like this?

No. You aren't a sociopath. You view human life and dignity as intertwined and have enough empathy and humility to be a member of society.

These people do not, and that is something we should regard every time their name or actions are discussed.

One of the freedom fighters that Trump gave a blanket pardon to for the Capitol riot must have thought he had diplomatic immunity, because he apparently pulled a gun on cops during a traffic stop and was effectively cut in half— dead.

    (Curb Your Enthusiasm music plays)

Hilarious too, how Trump’s “Law And Order” cult are screaming that this had to be some sort of “organized hit” on any right wing comment section.

You sure are a lot more optimistic than I thought.

The billionaires sidled up to Trump because they realized how much money they were gonna be able to steal.
Which candidate said that we need to raise taxes on billionaires?

The billionaires aren't afraid of Luigis; they probably have better security than Trump.

And as far as them getting their comeuppance: when, in recent history has a billionaire faced any sort of serious consequences for their actions?

The only example I can think of is the Sackler family, where they paid pennies on the dollar for their part in the opioid crisis.

(On a side not, we can thank those filthy cocksuckers for the inability to get GOOD painkillers when you actually need them. Nope, just maximum strength ibuprofen for everyone these days.

And don't you dare ask for the good stuff, because the bloodsucking doctors will blacklist you from recieving any remotely addictive medication from then on. )

Unrelated: Is anyone watching RFK Jr.'s confirmation hearing?

    He looks BAD.

Sweaty, jerking around like a tweaker; he looks like a bad Jim Henson puppet.
Think of a prototype of Hoggle that was deemed too disturbing for kids.

I would argue that Luigis are the one thing they are scared of. They know that the legal, political, and economic systems are too weak and feckless to ever hold them accountable, but a rando who decides to put a bullet in them? That could be anyone. We live in a country where some psycho takes a shot at school children every few days; it wouldn't take much to convince one of those nuts that they'd get more notoriety if they switched the target to a billionaire.

Or, even worse, could rally the public to actually force change to improve their life, which will impact their bottom lines.

The public approval rating of Luigi is way higher than Trump.

Wait, who’s Luigi? The news hasn’t been talking about some guy named Luigi, at least not for the last few weeks…maybe months.

Idaho lawmakers asking the SC to overturn Obergefell. And Idaho is just Utah without a disguise on.

If more states join in, I wonder how the “oh that’s not gonna actually happen” crowd responds.

The bill doesn't have a text, just a title, but already has 67 cosponsors.

It makes sense though… as that’s one of the few legal challenges they can pursue that would result in some form of government protection.
