From inside the bubble, it's pretty difficult, and we're not even a month in yet.

Before I say much on this, let me state plainly:
    1. I don't know any lazy feds. Every single person on my team has and will make more money elsewhere doing the exact same thing, or close to it. We chose to serve, and we know that entails sacrificing some dollars, and in exchange, we pursue the mission and we get some stability. The narrative that feds are lazy and overpaid is fed by fucking billionaires. Anyone who earns less than I do should not consider me an enemy, they should correctly view the billionaire class as the only ones who are overpaid. The middling success of a government employee shouldn't piss anyone off, and if it does kindly go fuck yourself.
    2. No issues with being more efficient, my agency institutionalizes that as an ethos. No issues with a reduction in force, we know there's sometimes where we have to trim down and not everything we're doing is critical or necessary to the current needs of the nation.
    3. We know there's some turbulence with any new administration and I'm not bellyaching about change.

That said, this is fucked, and America will suffer as a result. Our status in the world has declined and that shows no signs of stopping.

None of this is making any gains in efficiency, by the way. For example, firing everyone in a probationary status means if you've been in the job less than a year, you're out. That's not new employees, it's just the newly promoted. So those teams are now janky as fuck, because they didn't get to select and adjust. The anxiety, chaos and frankly, shitily written EO's has made implementing normal, executive direction impossible.

They want to traumatize public servants. I cannot fathom why, nor do I want to entertain sociopathic thinking. I am not here for "the government ain't do shit for me" crowd either, because those cunts are the reason Western NC is proper fucked and will remain so for a long time. The federal government, for example, funds 40% of the state budget in SC. Not anymore. That's healthcare, education, roads, power, water, food....all of that is less safe, stable and secure than it was a month ago.

If you voted for leaner, more efficient government, I have zero issues with that.
If you voted for "fuck society at large, starting with the people who serve the public", kindly kill yourself and save me the fucking trouble.

The media coverage is fucking absurd. FEMA's long-time CFO was fired for a program that Trump started in 2019. This woman oversaw the better part of a TRILLION dollars, was audited constantly and not a single blemish was found, and the people who actually approved the funding in question that got her fired were not even questioned. She was fired because of a tweet, and it's just not how accountability works. If she did something illegal, or even something that the administration found objectionable, she should be prosecuted.

This is Project 2025, which I'd summarize as "Sharia law, the Oklahoma variety." It's bad. It's scary, and right now, it's working like a mother fucking charm.

The playbook comes from post-Soviet Russia, where a bunch of oligarchs said "we'll privatize everything and get even richer, all the while feeding the public more elaborate lies." And, I wish I was kidding, Nazi Germany. It's not hyperbole, it's precisely what they fucking did. Some of the same shit happened in fascist Italy and Spain, but it originated there.

This is the end of the American empire, because after this, we as a population will be too sick, dumb and endangered to do anything, and our government will be too looted, corrupt and incompetent to manage an empire.

I am so fucking furious. The veterans on my team (in my office, they are about 70%), are LIVID. There is just no way this doesn't get violent.

Put another way, do the DOGE bros think they can't get doxxed? That we don't know their names, where they live, what they drive? Fuck, that leaked IMMEDIATELY. There's a project 2025 phone book in circulation listing everyone from DOGE dildos to SC justices.

The information is one thing, the will to act is another...but the motive? Clear, established and blatant.

Also, for the record, I do not think the US military can win any sort of conflict right now, much less with Canada. Canada would fuck our shit up right now, and would likely have the rest of our allies' support.

But you don't understand, these are "geniuses", whose slightly-lower-than-my-own SAT scores will make up for their total lack of experience in all relevant areas.

Also that epoch bug/misunderstanding reminds me of a bug we had where a failed database connection would return 0 instead of throwing an exception, and so when the game ran a query to find the 5th highest score in a tournament (so it could reward the top 5 players), it got back a value of 0 instead of a connection failure, and proceeded to award the grand prize to every player who scored 0 or higher. Which was all of them. Whoops.

We are now up to 7 high ranking prosecutors who have resigned rather than participate in this open corruption. These are not liberal prosecutors either, they include clerks for Scalia and Kavanaugh, and members of the Federalist Society.

“But he’s stopping the corrupt DOJ from…going after…a corrupt…..Democrat mayor?”

    “I mean…well…….RAPISTS AND MURDERERS!”

Hochul has to remove Adams as Mayor. It's an extreme step, but she has no other choice. She can't leave, in office, a Mayor who is being blackmailed.

I hope this breaks some people’s complacency - I know I usually come here to get legal things explained to me, but this is so obvious on its face.

I mean…is there any confusion as to why the Trump DOJ would decide not to prosecute the Democrat mayor of New York on charges of being bribed by a foreign agent?

If someone were trying to destroy the country from within, this is what it would look like.

If you destroy all the agencies to the point of uselessness, it will force them to become privatized to fill the vacuum. Welcome to Russia.

That's just it... you won't buy one... the big corporations, like BlackRock, will, so they can turn around and rent them to you.

Prices won't go down, but forclosures will go up.

My wife mentioned “stocking up more” the other night. The last time she said something like that was February 2020.
