    Shrug.

I saw the world's richest man do a Sieg Heil at the inauguration and one of the president's most senior advisors do one at CPAC.

I am seeing them work plans for camps and mass deportation, and threaten our allies and neighbors, aligning instead with dictators, war criminals and fanatics.

I am seeing them eschew rule of law, threatening members of the press, political enemies of the president and entire classes of people deemed "lesser".

I am unhinged because I am angry, but...if this isn't fascism, then what is it?

I don't know where your line is drawn, but for me, it was crossed last month.

If they continue to do what they say they are going to do, whether you call it nazi, fascist or whatever term, the bottom line is it's un-American, evil and dangerous. People have died, lives have been upended, and our status in the world has been damaged, and it's barely been a month.

If you don't think that what Trump et al are doing is along the lines of the Nazi playbook, then I don't know what to say, other than, what's missing?

It's not like they have to be burning Jews in ovens in order for that label to attach itself.

Yea 9 years of this constant speak and nothing happening and no pivot to another strategy is wearing thin. I don't even really disagree with you I'm just saying the way your opinions are presented are off putting to a large portion of the population.

You are free to take my comment however you like but I wasn’t trying to be flippant or discouraging just realistic. They obviously had a list of employees they blasted the email out to. Even the shitty version of Microsoft outlook we run at my job has a safe senders list and options that filters out replies of emails we didn’t send them to. We filter like this frequently when we send out promo codes we don’t want shared because my company is too cheap to pay for one off QR code style systems. I’d have to assume they have better systems and methods than the wonky backwards way we do it but I guess it is the government after all.

Anything worth doing against literal Nazis that now head our security state shouldn’t be said out loud on the internet. Jan 6ers learned that the hard way.

The only one coming off as unhinged or at the very least willfully blind here is you.
Open your eyes and look around.

Just look at the UN vote the other day. These are the countries the US aligns with now.

    Against (18)
    B: Belarus, Burkina Faso, Burundi
    C: Central Africa Republic
    E: Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea
    H: Haiti, Hungary
    I: Israel
    M: Mali, Marshall Islands
    N: Nicaragua, Niger, North Korea
    P: Palau
    R: Russia
    S: Sudan
    U: United States

    https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/elon-musk-email-spam-very-rude-1235278629/

Online, people participating in the trend have both sent their own versions of emails, or drafted different examples they would send if they were federal employees. But they’re not the only ones. Two sources familiar with the matter, including a Trump administration official, tell Rolling Stone that the replies to the recent Musk OPM email have been flooded with pranks and, in the words of the Trump official, “very rude” emails listing fake, vulgar “accomplishments,” and even sending links to graphic images of sex and scatological content.

    Assumptions assumptions.

I used to do online banking work. Fortune 50 companies would bring me into their systems to help them fix stuff. I did work for some seriously huge banks, and went in thinking "cool, these guys are huge, profitable, they must know what they're doing". One such customer was so fucked that the running "joke" was the active devs had ZERO cash in their own bank because they knew how fucked it was.

In government I've learned to expect the absolute shittiest implementation of a half baked idea in the worst way possible by the worst people imaginable, and anything other than that is the exception, not the rule. It's been pretty valid so far.

Ok. I just disagree with your opinion. That doesn't make me a monster and Nazi supporter. Thats the messaging that needs to change. Or just keep up with what you're doing that got us here in the first place. A qualified candidate presented by the other party would have wiped the floor with Trump, but once again they decided to get cute and take the high ground instead of trying to win an election.

Not disagreeing with you at all... I'm just amazed that people thought Trump would be a better option than the Democratic shit show. Unless the plan was to just rip shit apart and fuck it up so bad that people learn their lesson.

Don't know, man... I just don't get it.

I don't understand people who continue to parrot this notion that Harris was somehow NOT qualified to be the President. Especially compared to clowndick that is now the president. Former attorney that decided to become a senator, then rose through the senate to eventually become Vice President. Oh... look at that; almost the same exact career path of Joe Biden and Barack Obama. There seems to be one key difference here that I can't seem to pin down between Harris, (and Clinton back in 2016) and those other guys, or all of the other names people seemed to think were "better" candidates.

Maybe it's better if people just rip the bandaid off and just admit they live in a sexist country? Crazy thought, I know, but then again, I'm just a man. What the fuck do I know?

    So much this.

Multiple 4 star generals came out and said "don't vote for this man because he is a danger to this country". And that flat out doesn't happen here. I listen to a podcast of really smart guys who swear that Trump can't become a dictator in this country and I just shake my head.

I don't think Kamala was a good candidate, but she was fucking miles better than Trump. She had some terrible economic ideas, but the Senate was going to be majority Republican which meant that little if any of those ideas would get passed. Also, Trump would have been held responsible for Jan. 6 and other criminal bullshit he pulled.

Qualifications mean nothing when it comes to presidential elections here. That's sad but true. You have to be charismatic. And yes, there is some sexism involved, especially in religious communities. I know someone who voted third party because "the Bible says men should be the leaders".

People often use the word “unqualified” for people they don’t like. My MiL says Kamala was unqualified. I try to explain that she is absolutely qualified, you just don’t like her.

Because it's easier to say someone is "unqualified" than what they really mean which is not white and/or a man.

I try to be precise with my language, so I much prefer referring to Republicans as "fascists" rather than "Nazis," but the recent trend of sieg-heiling in order to own the libs isn't not Nazi behavior.

If there's one thing that has defined Musk/DOGE's efforts, it's just how sloppy they've been. Overlooking basic cybersecurity practices like email filtering is exactly what I would expect.
