That whole thing was so fucking vague. And likely on purpose. Is it a protest made up of illegal immigrants? Does he consider the protest itself illegal? Why the sudden “NO MASKS” outburst? Does he mean any masked protesters or are we bitching about covid again? Has he seen the Jan 6th images of dudes with masks and zip ties running through the capital building? And this goes back to - do his social media posts count as official business? Does it apply to Truth Social or just twitter/facebook? I would hope that an actual attempt to curtail first amendment rights would be met with resistance on all sides.
They are stopping the public talking of shit about Trump, and no masks means they can identify and go after them. Protesting is increasing a lot right now in the US, to the point that the GOP is recommending that their reps do not do town halls due to the protesting that is going on at them. Walz has posted that "if the GOP won't do a town hall in your area, call me, I'll do one and we'll help the Democratic candidate win it back."
In this case he's specifically referring to the pro-Palestine protests that occurred on college campuses last year. He wants the ability to define these as "pro-terrorist" and expel/arrest the Americans involved and deport the non-Americans.
