I haven't watched it yet, so I don't know what the vibe was exactly. I know Newsom definitely wants to be President, and in the past he has picked a lane of "be willing to go into the lion's den and defend California against anyone, at any time" like when he debated DeSantis with Hannity moderating, so this may be a continuation of that strategy. On the other hand, he could be triangulating and trying to move toward the center/right on some issues to broaden his base, which I think is stupid and destined to fail.

I still find it hilarious that the White House is full of homophobic morons that can't read. They have no clue what "transgenic" means, and immediately went to "we're creating gay mice, and it must be stopped!" For those of you that don't know, this is directly related to cancer research. Back in the day, a scientist named Phil Leder created something called the Onco Mouse. It was a genetically engineered/manipulated mouse that killed off all of the body's immuno responses to foreign bodies, like cancer. That meant that when a lab rat was injected with cancer, their immune system didn't try to fight it. Different rats would have different results, meaning that there was no guarantee that the cancer being bred in each rat was the same. The Oncomouse ensured that all of the cancers were the same in a cohort of research mice. This was HUGE. (I did some work building software for one of his labs, where my cousin did cancer research at Harvard). This is an extension of that work to make it even better, so that the cancer in the mice were behaving as if it was cancer in humans. Way cool. This is what Transgenic means. Way not "gay mice". Fucking retards. This was what was reported from the official White House site.
