First weekend that I didn't have anything to do in a while so I was riding high while watch Bill Maher but I recall one of his guests saying that enough Californian's have left for red states that CA could lose a few electoral points and 3 or 4 of the seven swing states could pick a few up. Anyone have more credible info on that?
Reapportionment isn't until 2030, but if current trends hold there will be some shifts away from CA, NY, and the Upper Midwest, and toward TX, FL, and the Western Rockies. Source. California and New York actually gained more international migrants than they lost in domestic migrants, but Texas and Florida gained in both categories. In general the trend is that states with more established economic centers (California, Illinois, the Northeast) lose in domestic migration to up and coming economic centers (Texas, North Carolina, Arizona) due to the latter being cheaper.
I feel like Florida is going to be losing a lot of population over the next few years. Insurance companies don't want any part of Florida due to climate change.
That's definitely coming, but I think it'll take longer than the next cycle to manifest. Speaking of, Louisiana is absolutely fucked. All the problems Florida has (and more) and none of the money.
Some of the footage from the Senate Intelligence Committee around the Signal group chat shit is pretty entertaining. Watching them try to dance around their incompetence is like watching a kid being called into the Principal's office... with about as much intelligence at work.
Also a lot of Canadian snowbirds want out of America right now, period. You already had utterly shitty and sociopathic customs/immigration officials, now they’re just acting like completely petty and power-hungry fucktards towards Canadians for no reason, an extension of Trump’s thoughts. More and more people are retiring in Thailand instead and I can see why— it’s not just for the kickboxing and sex tourism.
Goldberg just released the supposedly unclassified Signal messages. Shit is getting spicy! https://www.newsweek.com/jeffrey-goldberg-releases-more-trump-admin-signal-messages-2050730
Here's the full chat: https://imgur.com/a/breaking-below-...released-by-jeffrey-goldberg-atlantic-hkD7Cdm Things I found notable: They're clearly doing this to avoid the requirements of the Presidential Records Act. The existence of the chat alone is illegal, regardless of what's discussed in it. Gabbard designates Joe Kent as the DNI's point of contact. Aside from being a right-wing nutjob, Joe Kent has not yet been confirmed by the Senate. They killed a Houthi leader by tracking him to his girlfriend's apartment and then blowing up the building. Yemeni authorities have reported 53 casualties. This is an insane lack of regard for collateral damage, and arguably a war crime. Their hostility to Europe is pretty blatant. They think Europe is responsible for reopening the shipping lanes (or compensating the US if they do it) because they ship the most through the canal, but see no US responsibility in closing them in the first place due to support of Israel.
I think this is a perfect portrait of the Dingus administration. Instead of saying "we fucked up and we're instituting procedures to ensure it never happens again" They double down how they're not in the wrong and even went so far to say Jeffrey Goldbweg somehow snuck into the chat. Zero accountability for ANYTHING.
I'm loving the whole "it's a hoax because they said War Plans and now they are saying Attack plans" angle that they appear to be going for
The situation is bad. But this video about it genuinely made me laugh out loud. https://www.reddit.com/r/TikTokCringe/comments/1jkdnpa/gentle_parenting_us_leaders_about_national/
