If there isn't a medical standard for this, there will be at some point. I know my doctor told me to avoid it when I came to him a few years back with depression and it wasn't really anywhere close to a causal issue with me at the time. If Ive got too much going on I find myself avoiding commentator based "news" and messageboard/comment sections just to not have to deal with it. It really is just a stress input that you have no ability to control anyway.
My dad is retired and watches way too much "news." He was mad at the moment because at some point I cut him off and told him that I have to choose my own happiness, and that means not fixating on that shit. He got sarcastic and told me that i am just putting my head in the sand and let's talk about butterflies and rainbows instead! But he doesn't bring up politics as much so I'll call it a win.
I quit Twitter and every major social media entirely. It was like a car wash for hate. I highly recommend it to all.
I've all but gotten off of Facebook. It's completely obnoxious and devoid of anything that can be called substance. The constant amateur politicking and grandstanding is so tiring and generally ignorant as fuck. I only use it to chat with friends if I don't have their phone number. I'm still on twitter as my main source of news and funny, but even that is getting stressful. Instagram is fun so I can look at cute animals and nice asses. Everything else is just a cesspool of retarded yelling.
One, we are super fucking lucky this didn't end in a huge national tragedy with multiple congressmen killed. One of those never be the same country after type incidents. Two, it's really a matter of time before there is a huge mass shooting were the nut streams it live on facebook and the entire world will get a first person view of a Virginia Tech or Sandy Hook level event. The world can be a fucked up place sometimes.
The fact that he got off that many shots and didn't kill anyone is simultaneously incredibly lucky and incredibly pathetic.
Are you sure thats the sentiment you're looking to express? You think its pathetic he didn't kill anyone?
That's the first thing I told my wife when I heard he took a rifle to a baseball game. That he had to almost try to be that bad of a shot. And we're really lucky he was (to say the least). Those two cops must have been incredible shots and brave beyond words to take on a rifle with their pea shooter pistols. This is the type scenario where it's actually better he had a rifle as his weapon than, say, a knife, or a truck. A gun takes skill to shoot. A knife, a box truck, an axe. That just takes a mentally ill person with an agenda.
I imagine the Capitol Police who are assigned to security details aren't any more than a step below the Secret Service in terms of their qualifications and resolve.
I mean it suggest a lack of training though how you get pathetic out of it seems just emotional based as hitting moving targets at any distance is notoriously hard even for most well seasoned cops. The reason most of these mass shootings are so deadly is it is high fire power in small really can't miss surroundings and the element of surprise. I have to believe he started firing well away from the group he was orginally shooting at. I think it's just pure luck he didn't walk up close distance beforehand.
So... not only is it Trump's birthday today, but it appears he's received a nice present: https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...e02506-5131-11e7-b064-828ba60fbb98_story.html Trump is now being personally investigated by Mueller for Obstruction of Justice. All questions made to the White House regarding the Russia investigation are referred directly to Trump's personal lawyer. Interesting.
Give it another 12 hours and a few cocktails. I bet at midnight he'll say he's firing the Supreme Court and dismantling the FBI.
Shit, it's only been 12 hours since someone tried to assasinate a group of congressmen and it will be a footnote to a footnote after the Bachelor scandal blows over tomorrow.
Good. Then he can finally replace them with GI Joe, who can stop Cobra's evil forces. Right now politics down south looks like a game of chess between two near-vegetables who simply slap the game pieces around every four hours or so, just for simple amusement. We are sharpening out skates, and this winter we are coming for your quality bourbon and unrestricted lawn fertilizers.
Shitty thing for Canadians, global warming will prevent you from crossing our lakes and rivers....America wins again
