My favourite was the clinically insane Lego figure who lost his election to a corpse, becomes AG anyhoo, gets offended by lady justice's tits and told all of us that "Calico Cats are the minions of Satan." That was.... only Fifteen years ago. Not two hundred.

I'm not really sure if I agree with the rationalization for the two bills, but I think these were needed.

I'm sure some people are going to lose their shit if it passes in the senate, but this whole sanctuary city nonsense has gotten really stupid.

Again though, you guys act like everyone who voted Trump is in love with the guy or something. Maybe half the people who voted for him are of that mindset. The rest just dislike Clinton more. Not to start the 'who is worse' argument again for the 1000th time.

I totally get it, and was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it's not looking good.

One thing is for sure... he's shaking shit up.

I work in the south, in a fairly progressive city but the guys I work with who are southerners voted for for Trump for two reasons.

Religious reasons AKA abortion and the gays.

Hatred of Hilary Clinton and the completely bullshit argument that Clinton would take our guns away.

But overall it's hatred of Clinton, anyone but Clinton, if the DNC had run a different person it may have been a different outcome.

That is one I will never understand. He is more progressive on that issue than Obama was when he first took office. He's the first president to openly support gay marriage when he was sworn in. He's fairly vanilla religious right on plenty of other things, but if the republican base wanted to get the gay people they should have backed Cruz.

Whatever his personal beliefs are (and I suspect they lean toward 'Can I make money off of them?'), his administration and judicial choices are clearly opposed to gay rights.

I think you might be confusing intelligent discourse with religious fanaticism, Baptists down here did back Cruz, but then Trump won the nomination and they all voted for him.

My father in law routinely advocates killing of gay or trans people, for all the Christian talk of tolerance and inclusion being gay in a Baptsist community is a non starter. S

I agree that this isn't as bad as people denying climate change and whatnot, but this is still pretty ridiculous.

Really? It's stupid enough that they won't enforce the law, but when someone does try to enforce it the tax payers are on the hook for a big payoff. Also, a lot of these "I was harassed" settlements are way, way too much. You were (rightfully) inconvenienced. That does not entitle you to a massive pay day, even if you were a citizen, which you're not anyway.

Also, looks like Trump is sending the feds to Chicago. No big surprise there.

Maybe, but what rights are they really going to lose? Businesses won't have to bake them a wedding cake if they don't want to? Anything is possible, but I doubt they overturn the gay marriage ruling or anything like that.

This seems like a pretty good time to slap an IRS lien on that settlement while they figure out how much he hasn't paid in Federal income tax during his stay here.

I think the worry is it starts with businesses not having to make cakes and then spirals into gay and trans people being refused services in any manner of places.

It's possible. Gorsuch's dissent in the Arkansas birth certificate case clearly indicate he disagrees with Obergefell, and if Trump replaces Kennedy (and god forbid Ginsburg) with more along Gorsuch's mold Obergefell might be reversed.

So it really looks like the President tried to blackmail a news program into giving him positive coverage. Scarborough says he has the texts to back it up, and Trump, as he does, tweeted a denial that is effectively a confirmation.

Glad my state didn't go along with this nonsense either. Not that I wouldn't trust the Trump administration with my personal info and voter history, but I just don't fucking trust them. Bet his own voters don't either.

And why isn't your entire country angry at this stupid asshole for this? This is just about as outrageous and idiotic of a "request" I've ever seen.

    What a joke.

Don't you get it? Everyone is OUTRAGED! OUTRAGED, I tell you! Just look at their tweets and social media and official press releases.

That's all it takes to appease the masses these days... the appearance of being outraged, and you're good enough.

Nobody has the balls to actually say, "that's not good enough" and demand change or taking responsibility.

I just think it's hilarious that an openly corrupt official says he is crusading against corruption. But hey.... Kansas.

It seems even the Hee-haw states are calling this bullshit. Even Kentucky has basically told this dipshit to go fuck himself.

Okay there, Cool Breeze. Let's see Trump pull this feat off while looking like a more-handsome French Zorro (skip to 0:18 to avoid all the TABARNACK):
