Which explains all the guilty verdicts and her extended jail time, right? Unethical? Sure, I'll give you that, but last I checked being unethical isn't illegal.
Actually, that's where a lot of the frustration comes in... she's clearly done illegal shit that she should not have, but it's getting swept under the rug and ignored. There is no accountability. There are people in prison right now for having done less egregious things than she has.
If this were true, it would be a slam dunk. You keep repeating it like after the subpoena she deleted emails herself or ordered someone else to do it. So why wasn't she prosecuted for this?
No. But I'm assuming that the FBI was competent enough to do an investigation into who deleted them and why. I'm wondering what they found.
So, obviously, nothing is going to stop Hillary from being elected at this point but I have a question about what will happen in the first 6 months of her presidency. Make no mistake about it, this is a full-blown cover up by Hillary and her surrogates. Destruction of evidence is against the law. Mishandling of classified material is against the law. Lying under oath is against the law. So, if you look back at Watergate and what Nixon actually did and try to parallel that illegal activity to some of what has gone on in recent times with Hillary, in your opinions, how likely is it that they try to impeach her?
I suspect that there will be impeachment talk from day one, if they aren't doing it already. She will probably win the election, but make no mistake about it, she will get not a day to enjoy it.
Clearly a lot of people don't want there to be accountability. Nor do they seem to care that her lunatic foreign policy measures already have and are going to continue to get hundreds of thousands of people killed. I feel the same way about Trump's sexual assault. If those women want to file charges they should do it. I don't know how you guys feel about Hillary bullying and silencing actual rape victims from Bill(or you just don't believe it because he's a democrat), which outdoes even the shit Trump did, but I guess that's ok too.
I disagree. I think a TON of people want accountability, which is why they're voting for Trump... they're sick and tired of the "one set of rules for us, another set of rules for you" norm. I think it's one of the reasons people are backing Trump... they're sick and tired of the bullshit politics in politics. There's a huge outcry over the bullshit that Hillary is getting away with, but it's all for naught... everyone in Washington just ignores it and it goes away. Again, no accountability.
I keep seeing this repeated, but it's nonsense. The Republican party controls both houses of Congress and is utterly dominant at the state level. There's a greater chance that Trump wins the Presidency than there is that the Democrats win the house, and even the Senate has a good chance at remaining GOP controlled after the election. 2018 is going to be a bloodbath for the Dems regardless of the Presidential election simply because there are 23 Democrats up for reelection in the Senate vs. only 8 Republicans (and the other 2 seats are independents who caucus with the Democrats). Furthermore, the GOP is doing everything it can to consolidate power in very unethical ways between gerrymandering and attempts at voter suppression. I'm far more concerned with the health of the Democratic party than the Republican party.
http://www.reid.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Letter-to-Director-Comey-10_30_2016.pdf Ho-lee shit. The Senate Minority Leader just straight up accused the Republican candidate for President of treason, and further accused the Director of the FBI of soft selling it.
Senator Harry Reid's letter to Comey: http://www.reid.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Letter-to-Director-Comey-10_30_2016.pdf Mentions the Hatch Act.
Text: Dear Director Comey: Your actions in recent months have demonstrated a disturbing double standard for the treatment of sensitive information, with what appears to be a clear intent to aid one political party over another. I am writing to inform you that my office has determined that these actions may violate the Hatch Act, which bars FBI officials from using their official authority to influence an election. Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law. The double standard established by your actions is clear. In my communications with you and other top officials in the national security community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government – a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity. The public has a right to know this information. I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to the public. There is no danger to American interests from releasing it. And yet, you continue to resist calls to inform the public of this critical information. By contrast, as soon as you came into possession of the slightest innuendo related to Secretary Clinton, you rushed to publicize it in the most negative light possible. Moreover, in tarring Secretary Clinton with thin innuendo, you overruled longstanding tradition and the explicit guidance of your own Department. You rushed to take this step eleven days before a presidential election, despite the fact that for all you know, the information you possess could be entirely duplicative of the information you already examined which exonerated Secretary Clinton. As you know, a memo authored by Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates on March 10, 2016, makes clear that all Justice Department employees, including you, are subject to the Hatch Act. The memo defines the political activity prohibited under the Hatch Act as “activity directed towards the success or failure of a political party, candidate for partisan political office, or partisan political group.” The clear double-standard established by your actions strongly suggests that your highly selective approach to publicizing information, along with your timing, was intended for the success or failure of a partisan candidate or political group. Please keep in mind that I have been a supporter of yours in the past. When Republicans filibustered your nomination and delayed your confirmation longer than any previous nominee to your position, I led the fight to get you confirmed because I believed you to be a principled public servant. With the deepest regret, I now see that I was wrong. Sincerely, Senator Harry Reid
I just shake my head when I read all of this. I can't even imagine how this looks to other nations. The whole process of politics in America is compromised. http://www.wsj.com/articles/clinton-ally-aids-campaign-of-fbi-officials-wife-1477266114 So, here we are, having a guy whose wife's campaign was funded by a very closely-tied Clinton ally is the guy providing oversight on the investigation. Not to mention, the attorney general, who could potentially charge her, who got where she is by being appointed by a Clinton as well. Now we find out the director of the FBI has actionable intelligence of treason that he is sitting on according to one of the dirtiest senators in history....This whole election and politics in America in general is equivalent to watching a bunch of prostitutes try to slut-shame each other. There is no integrity in this system at all.
This part is pure bullshit as far as I know. Is there something concrete to this? I'm seriously asking because the dems keep throwing this conspiracy theory out, but I haven't seen anything to back it other than Trump sensibly wants to make peace with Russia and doesn't agree with Hillary's fucktarded no fly zone. I think there's a less than 5% chance these hatch act charges stick. You have to fabricate the evidence, or at least misrepresent the situation to the public. Just saying you started an investigation? It isn't a violation in my mind, but we'll see where it goes... Yes, there could be, BUT it depends on what is in there. Just dumping it into the public before carefully combing through would be irresponsible, and an FBI director isn't going to be that irresponsible. A president openly at odds with the conservative establishment is a major sign of a fracturing party. They are losing support across the country, even within their own base now. They'll probably lose the senate in the down ticket races. Even losing the house is possible, but I agree, they'll likely hold a slim majority. They have several competing ideologies within their ranks that are pulling away from each other. The bolded part kind of makes me laugh. Not that it isn't true, but the dems are doing the same thing; although it's more fraud than suppression. Sure, they aren't going to sink into the abyss over night, but they have some very serious problems regarding their future outlook. I hope the party does splinter.
The guy has talked to Comey and members of the National Security Committee about this... I'm willing to bet that you haven't. So why the fuck should what you "know" matter in the least?
