So if it's true, why are they sitting on it and why isn't there an investigation? Especially when this guy has a shot at being elected as president? I'm open minded to it, but I have to see something because right now it honestly looks like bullshit partisan politics.
Ignore his rhetoric, and you can see Reagan's (actually Buckley's) policies are alive and well. Lower taxes on the wealthy? Check. Hard line on immigration (and later soft line): check. 'Smaller government?' Check. Bigger defense spending? Check. Diplomacy at the barrel of a gun? Check. Make no mistake, the deal Reagan made has come back to haunt the Republican party, and they deserve it. You don't make deals with evangelicals and racists and not reap the whirlwind. That's what the euphemism 'Reagan Democrats' meant 30 years ago, and it's what it means today.
Did you read the letter you quoted above? That was why he is accusing Comey of a violation of the Hatch act.
Right, but that's all it is an accusation. And it's one hell of an accusation. Throwing it out there with nothing behind it looks very questionable. If it's true throw Comey in prison and maybe Trump too, but it has to actually be true. The dems have been blaming the Russians as a deflection to Hillary's misconduct all election. If there's something to it, fucking publish it already.
Trump's odds move up. A touch lower than I thought. If it's true about Trump's connection with the Russians I hope they move on it. If it's not true I hope they keep wildly swinging these accusations and only become even more outlandish. I hope they keep blaming everyone else for Hillary's bullshit because right now they are running their campaign into the ground.
Yeah, but Comey didn't mean to break the law, therefore no law was broken. He was just extremely careless.
Is that level of intent required to be guilty of it? Not realizing you were breaking a law doesn't mean you didn't commit the crime. A lot of times negligence can be enough.
I wanted to clarify why I'm taking issue with Reid's accusations. Ok a couple things: - He says based on his knowledge it's clear that there is explosive information. Based on his wording he speaks as if he has some idea as to what this information contains. - He wants this released to the public. He claims he has wanted this to be released for months. If he knows something himself why is he sitting on it? And why is he still sitting on it this close to the election? If he's privy to some of the information, and has been for a long time, nothing is stopping him from speaking out. This leaves 3 options. 1. He knows nothing about the information and is just firing off speculation that's based on nothing more than his own suspicions. He has no evidence, he's just gripping at a conspiracy theory. 2. He's making up bullshit to try to turn the tide of the damage this is doing to the dems' campaign. 3. He's sitting on knowledge of a party nominee, the FBI director, and what would undoubtedly include a number of other officials conspiring with Russia to undermine the American government. He can't quite prove it himself, but is aware of some of the details. If it's number 3, it's difficult to believe he's been sitting on this so long. It's also difficult to believe that he would do so with a conspiracy that not only involved Trump, but included some of the highest officials within our national security departments. You also have to wonder why he's suddenly ramped up the accusations at the same time the FBI reopened an investigation into Clinton's e-mails. He's passionate about it now because they're investigating Clinton again? He says he wrote Comey months ago, but there is a serious lack of urgency and pressure on his part if we're supposed to believe his narrative to be true. If he can't definitively prove it, and this is the closest to a plausible explanation I can come up with; he would still have to know details of how this coordination took place and have knowledge of what sort of evidence Comey is sitting on. Otherwise, he's either a liar or a jackass blowing into the wind. I'm not saying it's impossible, but his story has major holes in it. You also have to remember that Trump is hated by the dems, and not well thought of by the republican establishment, making this massive conspiracy all the more unlikely. If the republican elite had this information months ago, they could have thrown Trump out of the race and put in a nominee of their choosing. Something they tried to do at every turn throughout the primaries.
Yeah not knowing the specifics of the law in releasing that type of information it really seems like calling him to release all emails is just a narrative device for Hillary. If he could release them all or even release the ones that caught the FBI's interest, the potential for blowback for Hillary's camp could confirm Comey/FBI's position and at worst reveal major shit they don't want out days before the election. They know he can't or won't be able to before the election but they can set up the long game as to how they will spin it. It goes to show though that there is some nugget of truth to the seemingly impossible moral standards politicians are held to in their personal lives. As human as it is to make mistakes and cheat on your spouse etc, you get deep enough into bad decision making like Weiner, an outlier in terms of behavior I grant you, the more the chances of being compromised in your public life and career become.
I thought ToyToy was trying to be funny, "defending" Comey with the same logic Hillary Clinton used about her emails.
Donna Brazile has resigned from her role as a CNN contributor after a 2nd e-mail surfaced showing she had advance knowledge of questions during the debate. Supposedly the resignation happened on 10/14, but was not announced until today. http://money.cnn.com/2016/10/31/media/donna-brazile-cnn-resignation/index.html https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/38478
I think that's definitely shady. Especially because between both candidates, Hillary needed the least amount of help explaining policy and feelings on issues. While debates are largely political theater for tv watchers and indicate very little of how a candidate will actually perform in office, that particular subject is one that affected people deeply. It also shows how deeply entrenched CNN is with the Democratic Party. If you couldn't already tell by watching them.
I think it's funny that she got her ass kicked in the debates even after having questions sent to her.
How long before she resigns from the DNC to go work for Hillary full time? Isn't that how this works?
Just so we are clear. This question was leaked for the Primary debates, not the Presidential Debates. I am going to give Kampf Trinker the benefit of the doubt and assume he means Bernie kicked her ass in those debates and not Donald.
Yes, and while I didn't watch every primary debate Bernie clearly won the debates I watched. Not because I preferred him, but they weren't even close.
That's because Bernie has a fundamentally honest position that he proposed his ideas from. Whether you agree with him or not, he was genuine. When you don't have to remember any lies, you don't have to worry about coming across like a shithead.
