Because every time he opens his mouth he makes an ass of himself. The good stuff matters, and good on him for doing it, but I form my opinion on people based on everything they do. Most of what he does sucks, hence why I don't respect him. And some of it, like the pig cop nonsense is bad and offensive enough I think it needs to be counted alongside the good. He is to black activism what Anita Sarkessian and Lena Dunham are to feminism, which is to say he is a terrible messenger and a detriment to the cause. Really though, I'm sick of talking about him.
The e-mail scandal will never die, apparently. There is one part that is somewhat significant. Have to wonder if all this is just in response to the Russia probes though.
My brother had this to say: He and his wife (whom he met on his second tour and who has literally covered him while he dove in for one of their friends, and for whom he's violated one possibly two international treaties) are multi tour combat veterans who think the hoisting of dead soldiers to support the conservative cause is bile inducing.
Here we go again. Congressman plans to call for Donald Trump's impeachment over NFL remarks Oh. Look who's behind it. Again. Rep. Al Green of Texas says Trump's comments on NFL players go too far
Well, early results are looking good for the NFL: http://espnmediazone.com/us/espn-monday-night-football-overnight-rating-63-percent-year-ago/
Notice that they didn't report that last year's game was played when a presidential debate was going on?
It's still up compared to the other MNF games this year. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-ratings-up-for-the-season-way-up-for-week-3/
NY Times did an interesting article on the NFL ratings. I think one of the most telling indicators will be if we ever get a number of cancelled NFL Sunday Ticket subscriptions.
Spoiler Something tells me this isn't going to end well for 2LT Rapone, unless of course this was meant as a bad joke. https://twitter.com/punkproletarian?ref_src=twsrc^tfw&ref_url=http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2017/09/us-army-infantry-officer-supports-kaepernick-communism-will-win-message/ Is this free speech? After fighting the cold war, is this speech that America and Americans support? It appears that this was done in solidarity with Kap but I don't seem to recall him advocating Communism, just BLM?
Who cares? My first instinct is that this is some satirical commentary, but I don't think it merits any real discussion on its own. I also don't see what this has to do with free speech (in the 1st amendment sense); of course I support his right to say this, but if he gets LOC'd, LOR'd (or whatever the Army equivalent is), or fuck even Article 15'd for it I'm going to laugh at him because it'll be his own stupid fault for fucking around like this when he knows better.
You dont get free speech in the military like you do as a citizen. As for his advocacy of communism, you just have to assume anyone who supports it is an idiot on the level of the flat-earth crowd.
Essentially the same way I feel about every other statement, including this one from a year or two ago: It's free speech. I support free speech. This time, supporting Communism, is something a little different. How many Americans died pushing back the Red Tide? Does our military ethos support this view within their ranks? That is the real question. I don't have that answer but it will be worth examining it as there are limits on free speech while in uniform.
I do know that if Trump comes out and says anything about the guy, 2LT Rapone will have a whole new crowd of angry supporters complete with GoFundMe accounts and protests.
I do believe communists are idiots. Over the last century Communism has been a consumate failure with an ocean of blood underneath it. My question is WHY are people trying to make speaking against it get put in the same class as hate speech? I'm hearing the term "anti-communist" get thrown around lately like it's a bad thing. These are the same people who call everyone a Nazi who disagrees with them. Did they forget who the leaders of communism were? Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot. Now there's some towering, humanitiarian role models for you.
Venezuelan's launch the cutest protest ever: "Nearly two weeks ago Maduro encouraged people to start eating rabbits for protein as Venezuela faces a severe food shortage. After being given the rabbits, many people who took part in a pilot project for the rabbit-eating initiative placed bow ties on the bunnies, kept them as pets and cuddled with them in bed." Oh yeah, Maduro also called Trump "Hitler" at the UN yesterday.
They all turned into autocracies. Every single one of them. Most economic academics think that Marx would have been appalled at what was done with his ideas. The people that are anti-communist are certainly a fringe element and should be laughed at ad infinitum.
Have they announced the proposed income thresholds for the 3 new brackets yet? I can't find it anywhere.
